Folks,

I just want to make sure you all realize the deal that Brunswick is offering all the readers of AZB. Click on their banner ad when you see it and you will find that they are offering a special $2,000 accessory package for free to any AZer who purchases a GCV. Just go make your best deal with the dealer and then follow the directions on the landing page that you go to when you click on the ad and you get the package pictured there for free. It includes balls, sticks, etc. Check it out!

I just got the brunswick metro and it plays great. its the same one they've been using for the World pool championships and the mosconi cup, so it must not play that bad.

I just realized your an authorized diamond retailer. So it doesn't matter what anybody says, ur gonna go with diamond no matter what.

And i just finished watching the womens u.s open, they're using the GCV, too.

Well I don't know if this is your first RED REP but I doubt it will be your last. Welcome

I believe that the GC has always been made in the USA. or at the very least pre-assembled here. (Unlike most Brunswick tables the GC is supposed to be pre-assembled to ensure accurate fitting of all it's parts according to their website.)

I like that they finally have a "pro" pocket setup option from the factory, it's only taken them a decade to catch up with Diamond on that. It was a noticable factor in some recent WPBA tournament I've seen played on the GCV like the US Open.

Of concern to me however would be their rail rubber, which has not had a great reputation for longevity since the GCIII. Does anyone know if the rubber used on the GC IV and V has the same issues?

Wow!!!

Knocking will win you Nada!!

I am a dealer for another table manufacturer and would never consider such a statement! I can also add that it's erroneous.

Brunswick has been a part of pool for a loooooong time, They continue to support pool in many ways, including advertising here on our favorite website!!

There have been many threads comparing tables and all have ended the same way. Many brands of tables have a following and people that like them for different reasons. We are fortunate to have a company such as Brunswick extend this offer here and to support pool like they do!!

Greenies for Brunswick!

He may be a wealth of info but he is also on the payroll of Diamond last I heard. Don't think he will knock his next meal. JMHO
But this is a great deal Brunswick is throwing to AZ's
I own a Diamond for the sole reason Brunswick did not offer the cut pockets at the time. I think both play really well and there is room at the top for 2 on this pool mountain.

Ive got a metro tournement edititon for the same reason. At the time it was the only table from brunswick the came from the factory with pro cut pockets. Now the GCV comes with them also. If id have only known.

Glen is a vendor to Diamond. He IS a wealth of knowledge on many brands of tables. Yes he is able to compare them too!

Gold Crown is built in Brazil. Thanks for the offer Brunswick...

Is it Brazilian or Italian slate? The Brunswick website seems to indicate they use both, and details some differences between them, but does not indicate whether all tables of a particular model like the GC will use Italian or Brazilian exclusively.

You mean GC III and up.
I and II were US made.
The Metro was Dufferin's table before they went out IIRC.
I believe they are made in China.

Dis-agree

authorized Diamond Dealer

This explains it!!

That doesn't explain anything. Just because he is a dealer for Diamond doesn't explain his poor judgement.

Not necessarily........

Anyone that has met Glen will probably agree that he will not pull punches when exlaining the good and bad of any brand of table. He has told me some good and some not as good things about Diamond and others, it is not blind devotion. Luckily, he knows how to make any of them play great.

BTW- He is working on my rails right now and I can vouch first hand for how meticulous he is about making a table as perfect as possible.
