Brunswick gold crown 7 video ..everything new walk through from the expo!

Gotta say I am tempted to check out an 8’ for my house when these come out. I still debate whether to get a 7’ since leagues and most tournaments are on them or get a better 8’ than my current one for the house. 3 pc slate 4.5 pockets would be the set up.
9 or 7.

Don't get an 8 foot because it doesn't translate over to "best of both worlds".

I think this is the #1 factor. They found a way to create a pool table that is affordable, at least not Brunswick prices, that played well enough to be in tournaments and pool halls all around.

Somehow I doubt pool rooms are going to convert to these new Gold Crowns because pool rooms have recently converted to Diamonds.

Lets say bulk pricing for that 12.5k table? Lets say a real generous 50% off. So to outfit a 20 table room it would still cost 150k+.

Lets be more generous....lets say 75% off ROFL.....3K .... so a 20 table room it would cost 60k which is much more feasible.
Well, according to Brunswick's website, MSRP on the 9' GC VI, Tournament Edition with gully (ball return), is $14,150.00...YIKES!!!🤯...and that's just the VI...they don't even have the VII listed...

Damn. They better offer special financing.

If they offer special financing and very special rates then sign me up. It has to be long term finance too. 10 years at very very low interest.

Even though I prefer diamond tables I want to see Brunswick succeed. Hell I wanted to buy one of the cool Brunswick shirts they were selling at the expo but didn’t get back over. That being said if your going to compete in the world now with diamond being the table of choice you need to be price wise on the same level. You’re going to have a hard time convincing a large group of people out there who play on diamonds now to spend considerably more money on the Brunswick.

The Brunswick guy (Nick Baron, President of the Brunswick Billiards Group) sounds really candid and like knows what' he's talking about. That's a very good sign.
I like the table, would have liked to see what the ball return under the table looked like. Also find it interesting to note that the pocket sizes available go from 4" to 4.5" and then jump from 4.5 to 5"

Nick Baron clearly stated MSRP of $12,500. Significant discounts for multiple purchases. Assuming there is an adequate supply in relation to demand, they will be priced competitively with Diamond.

Intradesting.

So half/inch increments.

That would be shit. You got your choice of 4'' which is unplayable in my opinion and 4.5'' which is very easy.

Oscar stated 4", 4.25", 4.5" and 4.75" as the pocket sizes available.

I agree...I truly think price is one of, if not "the" driving force behind Diamond's success...of the "Big 3", being Brunswick, Olhausen and Diamond, they are definitely the most economical...I like Diamond tables, but they are 3rd on my list...

I’ve said many times If you want a 7 foot table diamond is the best to me and it isn’t close..BUT a 9 foot table if you don’t need a diamond or want to spend the money you can get an older gold crown cheap. like less then $2500 or even 2k delivered and set up cheap around here. It will play great and last a life time. Olhausen I just think of home tables to me they all play easy. Well made.. will last you forever but the set up just isn’t for a serious player.

That really depends where your at. Around here it's 4000cad or more if you can find one, even then it's going to be 4 plus hours away.

I like Olhausen commercial tables...that goes for all 3 makers...I'd only buy a commercial series table...

Fair enough.. not sure I ever played on an olhausen commercial table. Your right Brunswick home tables don’t play the best either.

Brunswick stopped sponsoring tournaments 10 to 15 years ago, I think. That used to be the Mosconi Cup table.

Also, Diamonds are much easier and faster to set up due to the one piece slate.
If both are equal as far as delivery/set up what would you choose. Form home I have to go with GC if looks matter. Playability first but there is something about the GC's (exclude 5&6).

For those too lazy to watch the video (Its really good, highly recommend), here is my written summary of it copied from another thread:

My summary:

-Table was developed with feedback from players, room owners, mechanics, as a starting point. Not the other way around.
-Rails are extruded aluminum. It has helped to keep the corner castings aligned, which plagued all prior GC's.
-Great care was taken to make the corner castings and pocket liners flush.
-All tables are ball return. Inserts may be available in the future to block the return.
-The ball tray is made for one pocket. It's arranged so when the table is streamed, it is in view of the camera, and the audience can easily see the score. It is optional. (unfortunate IMO that its not standard, as I know most room owners won't get it, just like they rarely get the Diamond ball rack, and all the balls end up on the floor playing one hole).
-The cushions are made by Artemis, but they are a NEW design. They are not what is on Diamond. Brunswick went to Artemis and they developed a design together. It only fits a GC7. No other Brunswick.
-Pockets come in 4, 4.25, 4.5, 5" sizes. Nick mentioned the 4" for the WNT. (maybe there is something on the horizon there?).
-1 piece or 3 piece slate design. 1 piece is pre-built, and rolls in on a specially designed cart for pool rooms or tournaments.
-approx 1100 lbs.
-30mm Brazilian slate. Slate is heavier than prior GC (thicker). Frame is lighter than prior wood GC6. Frame is steel.
-Aug to Sept estimated availability.
-MSRP target of 12,500. Significant discounts for pool rooms and tournament promotors. Tired pricing 1-4, 5-10, 10+ tables.
-3 color options: brown, white, black.
-8' (not oversized) and 9' version.
