Gold Crown III Score Keeper Problem

Hi Guys,

Got a Gold Crown III with the score keeping rollers on the end rail which is very annoying when you try to shoot over them because they are raised slightly but enough to scratch your cue real good.

Someone told me to just remove them. The problem first of all is that I'm not sure just how to do that without damaging the table. Second of all, I like using them from time to time even though I have the beads also.

So my question is:

1. How do you take them off?
2. Is there any way to get them lower so they don't stick up above the table?

Thanks, Charlie

Do you mean Gold Crown III? You have to take off the rail, then flip it over to get to the mounting screws. My suggestion, especially if you like using them occasionally, leave them on and be careful when bridging in that area.

It's the same thing on Valley tables if you're bridging on the corner casting, but you wouldn't leave those off, right? I know it's not ideal, but it's just something you need to deal with on that model table.

My opinion. They can be removed if you want to though.

Josh, What mounting screws? All the 3s i have seen use the push in
spring tang system. Early model crown counters have the allen head mounting bracket design.

Good call. I was definitely thinking of the I and II's with the allen head screws.
