Brunswick sold to Escalade

What counters? Are you referring to the score counters? I played in a place that had all GC1's and we never used the counters. Always a penny under the rail. We never played 14.1 either so we didn't need them. GC3's were last to have them and those sucked. Snagged on your clothes real easy.
Looked at those counters, yep the cheap ones Japan?, not the original ones. Those cheap ones Never worked as good a the original ones.

Just curious as to what made you bring-up the counters? Japan made counters? Lost me here. I thought all the GC counters sucked. They usually wore out and just spun without any click stops. I know they're fixable but its a pia to do. I'm glad they finally got rid of them myself.

The GC3 counters had 2 different versions, one was serviceable and could be reassembled, the other, the dials are super cheap and not so much. I always replace them with the older version on my restorations. I like the counters, my only complaint: they( and the name badge) should have been countersunk into the rail to avoid any of the issues mentioned. I think they took them out for COST and thats it.

"...more than one"?

You SHOULD have an EXACT count, ya know what I mean?

I was smoking so much hi-grade skunk back then i have no clue. One i can recall was nice 50's Hawaiian rayon shirt. F&*k that pissed me off. POS fkng counters. Either beads over the table or a penny under the rail.

The counters always moved when shooting shots and such. We kids just quit trying to use them and changed games that don't use counts.

I'd be willing to guess that those things helped cause the demise of straight pool.

Just fix the spring clips, they last for years. None of the earlier Brunswicks than GC's, that I know of had counters.
Beads, are for drunk damage and cheating.

I was talking back when those tables were in the bowling alleys, etc. the '60's.

We just changed the game to 8-ball. We weren't alone in doing that. Spinning the numbers real fast was fun....for a minute or so.

You replace the GC3 counters with GC1 counters, is that what I'm understanding you said?

If I remember correctly from one of his books, I think Mosconi claimed that the counters were his idea!

He needed a counter; we mere players can keep track more easily of our consecutive shots made.

I counted to 30 once. Once.

the Centennial and Anniversary both had counters as an upgrade option. Not sure at what point they offered them from the factory as a stock option :)

No sir, there are 2 different versions of the GC3 counters, I use the earlier version! :)
