I was at Shannons tournament saturday in Greenville and practiced for a couple hours with Nick Varner and I asked him about the Artemus cushions I was going to have put on a diamond pro I'm putting in my home, Nick said that he put Artemus on 20 tables in his room and hated it . He changed over to cheap tiawan cushion at that time, he said he liked brunswick super speed the best. Since he is a great banker and player I think I would like to try it on the diamond I need to know if it will fit right on a diamond pro? Leonard

Just make sure it's K55 profile.

PS. You should ask the bank pool players that played in the DCC what they think of the Artimus rubber before you make up your mind.

At last, a chance to speak...LOL Listen, the best rubber you can install on a Diamond table IS the Artimus rubber. As far as Nick's tables go...they installed the wrong rubber, as Artimus K66 NOT work on Brunswick Gold Crowns the point of the cushions will be at 1 9/16' high and play dead. Nick should have had someone install the rubber that knew what they were doing in the first place, then he'd still have the Artimus rubber on his tables today...I mean think about it...he CHANGED his tables to Artimus...why did he do that? Because the Artimus plays better...when the right Artimus is installed!!! You can NOT put the Artimus K66 on a Gold Crown, the only Artimus that WILL work...is the Intercontinental K55 rubber...period. So Nick screwed up, and blamed it on the rubber, when in fact it was the billiards technicians fault that installed it, he should have known better!

I could not have said it any better. Bottom line Artemus is the best on the market. I would pay the money up front and be happy with the end result. I did a gold crown one and three with the intercontinental k-55 recently and both customers were very happy.Thanx, Ron

Hello. What determines a "rail's profile"? I can see there is a K66 and a K55 standard and I'd suppose there may be others. But how can you determine what is being used? Perhaps even prior to disassembling your table for the change to aviod down time?

Quite a few years ago I picked up an old used 9' Murrey professional series table for 400 bucks. It's no gold crown, and it has that funky lettering on the sides, but it was only $400 and has framed slate and wood rails.

Although there is nothing really obviously wrong with them, I'm considering a full face lift for this thing next cloth change and just wondered how to determine what the heck is on this thing. Honestly, I suppose there is no real way to know if what is on it is correct in the first place, so is there some way to make a true determination?

Glen - the attached link shows Artemis' billiard cushion web page. They show four types but none are identified as K55. Which one is the K55? Or does Diamond have Artemis make a special profile just for them?

Is the k55 profile for the antique medalists or the 1990's version? I want to get some Artemis cushions to replace the original 1992 cushions on my Medalist.

Also, who are the US dealers for the correct Artemis cushions for my table?

Asfar as where to purchase Realkingcobra could most likely tell you.I haven't put Artimus cushions on anything in years.
And to sum things up for Nick Varner he's played and practiced on Brunswick most of his career so kind of like having your favorite cue he prefers Brunswick cushions and tables.
I'd put SuperSpeed cushions on the table and be done with it.Artimus makes a good cushion so does Brunswick.
Ask a Pro what he or she likes Diamond o Brunswick and its 50/50....

Measure from the point of the cusion to the back of the rail rubber to where it meets the wood of the rail...on top of the cusion.
if you press down hard with your fingers, you can feel where they join together. Take a tape measure and measure that distance. If it's real close to 1 1/8" then its K66, if it reads closer to 1 1/4" then its K55.

If I want to change the rubber on a 93" valley bar box, what would you suggest? I will pm you to see if you going to be in my area anytime soon,
