Brunswick Willy Hoppe Stick

Hi all. My one pocket partner asked me this yesterday. he's got an old willy hoppe stick, the one with the brass joint. After all these years, the shaft is at about 11mm. He stopped playing with it because of this fact. He went to a newer stick with a 13 mm shaft, but asked me if there was any way to retrofit a new shaft on that old stick. I dont know why anyone would want to do such a thing, but being the original purveyor of "silk purse, sows ear", I told this gentleman that i would look into it.

Any comments ???
