If we're lucky to live long enough, we'll all be there eventually. Nothing wrong or sad when the time comes where you need some help. My dad spent his last four or five years in a home and they were good years; better than the stress of him trying to struggle at home.
I believe someone posted his contact info (phone #) here a few months ago. If someone here knows him, let us know if he enjoys talking about the old days and pool. I'm sure many of us from AZ would call him.

UPDATE: i just called the center and had a short chat with the man himself. he's doing ok at 79 he said. he has a cell but his daughter had it to get fixed and he couldn't remember the #. when i get it i'll let a few know. he sounded sharp as a tack. they can get a phone to him but i had to go thru a couple nurses so its better to call cell. i don't know what his daily sched. is like but he sounded wide awake and sharp. He was really broken up when i told him about Tulsa pool legend Jeff Melton passing as they were good buds. Such a good hearted 'ol cat is the Rifleman, they broke the mold when they made this dude.

Hopefully the center where he’s at has a pool table - that would be a real treat for the other residents there to play with him / watch him play! If they don’t have one, they should definitely get one!
he rarely plays. he has trouble getting around. i think his daughter takes him to sully's occasionally.

I remember seeing Jimmy Moore in his final years. He could barely walk, had to hold onto the table as he moved around to shoot, but man, when he bent over and got down on his shot, he lost 50 years and you were in trouble. His body was 80, but that arm was about 19.
Does anybody know what exactly is wrong with Buddy? And will he be in the nursing home the rest of his life?
80 with various issues. Probably will.

Thanks Will. I just don't have a filter and the thin skins all hate me. I can live with that. I try to help where i can but i will give my take you can bet on that. If i make it up to Shooter's i'll find ya.
I don't know if he was the best 9 ball player ever,He never shot a difficult shot, unless someone else left it for him to shoot. Buddy was scary good, possibly the best ever at 9B. His book is a bit tedious to read but certainly with the effort
but everybody that ever tried to disproof it lost.
