The big question is how many are going to be skipping to go to the UK?Starts May 19, 2026, ends May 24, 2026. See you there. Www.poolactiontv.com will be streaming as usual with professional commentary.
I guess Matchroom isn't the sharpest tool in the tool chest to go up against Buffalo's. 500K in the Calcutta to shoot at.
yet the pros will go chase the points at the Scottish and UK Open that overlap.I guess Matchroom isn't the sharpest tool in the tool chest to go up against Buffalo's. 500K in the Calcutta to shoot at.
SVB likes money. He did just win a little 1P event with nearly 400 entrants.SVB has never liked 1P or probably Buffalos. Even though they stop smoking for the tournament the place still stinks and probably makes SVB sick to his stomach, tables are dirty, balls are dirtyIt makes my wife mad that I stink when I come home.
I preferred corner pocket, but me and Jamie would always match up whenever I was in town, so it was a no brainer. There are many great things about Buffalo's. Unfortunately, I have COPD and even without that I have became highly allergic to cigarette smoke. Hurricanes forced me out of the area. Until then Buff's was my "home pool hall". I drove by several other pool halls to get to Buff's and never regretted it. It got to the point that I was sick for several days after going in a heavy smoke filled environment whether I was in it for two hours or all day or night. Because of that I have to weigh whether a trip to any smoking venue is worth it.
Pool players in general seem to be far more addicted to smoking than the general public. It might be my imagination but it seems that every league player lights a cigarette for every place they stop a minute or they have short term memory loss and forget them all over the place! League players are heavy smokers as a whole, they are loud, they pay the bills. Without the heavy evening date crowd and league players we probably wouldn't have any quality pool halls.
It should be noted that his expansion next door to the main hall is smoke free. I don't know if smoke is an issue in there or not. I want to try it but I am not getting down there often.
Buffalo contributes greatly to pool and has for many years. He remains one of the best pool hall owners I have had the pleasure of knowing in the last fifty-five years that I have been playing. This post seems to focus on the negative but a great owner and solid pool playing employees make it a great place to play.

Not sure if I have COPD or not but for the last 15 or so years anytime I'm around smoking I pay for it for several days. It's one of the reasons I backed away from the game. Where I live we only have one legitimate pool room and they smoke in there. Absolutely sucks. One night of the week for this particular league they make people stop smoking for like an hour before and as soon as the last 8 ball is holed they announce over the PA "ok smokers, fire em up!" Like what the hell. There are many great things about Buffalo's. Unfortunately, I have COPD and even without that I have became highly allergic to cigarette smoke.
