Building a Den!

Well I am finally at a point I get to build my den and set the table back up! I decided to put my table back together, and save up for the Diamond that I want. This decision came when I figured out I can't get much out of my table, and I don't want to be without one for any longer than I have to.

I am looking forward to practicing again. My room dimensions are 25X20 and the table will be smack dab in the center. Can't wait!

Just thought I would share, hopefully I can get some pics up with the work being done. It begins this weekend.

Lot's of hard work ahead of me, my wife, and the kiddos, but we will get it done. I am lucky the guy that owned the house before me built the garage in such a way that in order to enclose it there isn't much to do.

He insulated all walls and the ceiling. I just have to add a window to one wall and then take out the garage door and build that wall complete with an exterior door.

Then he has another 8x25 attachment onto the garage that is going to be another bedroom for kiddos.

My buddy is going to do the a/c this weekend or next weekend.

Oh yea, and just started my second class of my Master's degree so yea we are busy busy! LOL

Don't forget your Mother Drills!
randyg

Never will Randy! In fact when I have practiced a couple times at theo's lately I have been dead on my mother drills. Just want to be able to get back in the habit of practicing every day.

I would locate the table in a corner as long as you have plenty of room around the table.
Then you can use the rest of the room for seating, a TV, treadmill or what ever else you decide to fit in. My room is L shaped with the alcove where the table is 16 feet wide. The table extends into the other room about 1 foot where I have my speed bag heavy bag weights treadmill, TV and so on. Makes the room more versatile then being completely dominated by the pool table. Much better when you have guests as well..

That is exactly what we have planned! We changed our mind from smack dab in the center. Also later when I can afford it I am going to sell my 8' Proline and buy a 9' Diamond. It's going to be a good family room! And hopefully I can pass some pool skills off to the little ones! Ages 12 and 13. Just want to get the work done so I can get back to practicing daily, and we will get 9' table a couple years down the road.

The Man Cave coming together!!!

Hey man you haven't even seen my man cave! It's a 25 x 35 shop that was there when we bought the house. Made out of Cinder block!
I will post pics of that later if you like. Having my man cave / shop is what made it easy to close in the attached garage for a den.

My basement cave has a table from 30 years ago, a wood stove, and lots of room (42x22)

Unfortunately the table is a pretty cheap bar box nobody has touched in those 30 years, the wood stove is really small for the space (gonna freeze my butt off this winter) and the room is bare concrete with a big furnace and washer/dryer in the corners plus a cobweb filled, bare-pipe texas-chainsaw-esque ceiling. :D

Work in progress I guess....I'd post pics but I am not sure wether they would crack everyone up or just depress them

More pics

Well I got the exterior of the wall ready for windows and doors. Just hoping this tropical storm (possible hurricane) won't slow me down this weekend. We will see. I bought my exterior door and windows to go in the wall where the garage door used to be. Got to try and get the a/c in this weekend too. Here are a couple more pics but the photo quality sucks on these big time.
