Bustamante's Brother?

I ran into an old friend last night who is from the Philippines. His name is Joey Panganaban and Mike has nicknamed him Joey Banana and it has stuck. :p Joey said Bustamante has a brother that plays really well, but not quite Francisco's speed. Has anyone heard of him?

We also talked about the fact that our good mutual friend, Nardo, is now the mayor of Efren's home town. Nardo was one of the first friends we asked to be in our wedding and we have a standing invitation to stay with him in the Philippines. :cool: Joey said, "Yeah, he will even give you an escort from the airport...probably the whole army." :eek: :p

i believe his name is Joven Bustamante...been around for awhile but couldn't quite get to the top tier in the phil. such as the likes of alcano, orcullo...otherwise a pretty solid player..

hey ms. linda, btw, hello to you...about nardo..i had a lenghty talk with him at the ipt vegas- he was hanging around with reyes group..what puzzled me to this days is that he told me he didn't know rolando vicente at all-reyes's "lifeteme" manager...so i had to almost introduce him to rolando,,,,i know you told me you've known him for a while and that he used to own a pool room somewhere in the bay area?? i could be wrong..
i just couldn't believe that he did not know rolando when he'd known effie for a while...matter of fact they're all from the same town....

anyways,,congrats to him for winning the mayoral seat...i guess i can pay him a visit when i visit back there,,,

How's Joey hitting em, Linda? He and I played for 4th place in an "Up and Comer's" tournament at Dr. Cue's when I was in WA.

I remember showing up right after he had relieved some unfortunate soul of their bankrool, and he got the guy's Schon as payment for the loss of the last set.

I was insanely jealous. Just how is it people go about finding suckers with expensive sticks willing to gamble outside their comfort zone??? :D

with you on that on Jay... joven was just up a semi final or something another a decent size tourney a few months back...gotta dig a litle to find the name and pic

Any way you could change your avatar and just keep us updated on your progress in an NPR thread?

If you guys are talking about the Joven Bustamente who lives and works here in United Arab Emirates and who came through the local qualifying for both of the last two years World 8 ball Championships held in Fujairah and then did not disgrace himself in the finals, he is most certainly not a brother........and I'm pretty sure he's not any relation at all.
 
definitely not brothers. Joven is an OFW based in Qatar. his speed is around 3rd-tier! about Busty's real brother, I have no idea. Maybe he's doing some tour around Tarlac. the competition there has grown dramatically for quite a while now, as compared to years ago.

hey there habibi! so how's life in Dubai? I might consider taking a vacation there probably next year. heard many good things about the place.
 
Don't start with me, jack***.. Half the board decided to start calling me "Short Bus Russ" just because they got a kick out of making fun of someone whose opinions differed from theirs. I just decided to piss a bunch of people off and see if they still thought "Short Bus Russ" sounded funny.

I was...... I didn't get smart aleck with him or anything.. I just told him, as nicely as I could, that some people access this forum from work.

And he had to go be a smart @55.... If people want to take a pot shot at me while I am trying to be "relatively nice", then I'm going to respond.

If my reply was contrived by you to be a "pot shot" and a smart ass remark, then...well... then you need to get over yourself..thin skin and internet forums do not a good mix make.

As far as the jackass comment......you enjoy your little internet security, there fella, and continue to call names all your want....you and I .. hell anybody on this forum with half a brain knows that something like that wouldnt happen in "real life".

And that's about as "nice" as I can be, and thats hopefully is the last reply from me to you...though I am quite certain that you will attempt to provoke some sort of reaction from me with your next "insightful" response...

You're right Jay. Not Django's brother but still plays good enough to consistently place high in Fujairah World 8 Ball Championships.
