Butt too small?

No wonder it's really heavy.
A titinium or G10 pin would have helped.

Bocote is one of the best hitting woods there is.
So, coring it is like replacing Porsche's engine.

What you are saying is that a G10 pin or titinium could have been used in the joint to lighten that part of the cue to make up for a thicker butt? Here's a couple of pics. I really like the grain.

Does it have a maple handle or that is bocote all the way?
A titanium pin or G10 would have knocked the weight down by around an ounce.
 
Losing some cue response?

Thanks Joey for taking time to answer my questions, I appreciate it. I guess the conclusion is that if they use a larger bit to core it out more to facilitate making the butt larger it will lose some of it's responsivness?
