Butterfly South West!

I have never seen anything like this before. I did not know SW do conversions as well.

That cue looks superb and the wrap is not bad either:thumbup:

I am really happy that the wrap was still good after 50+ years. The cue is fantastic, and it's really nicely done.

Thanks!

Thanks for all the nice comments.

Sean: Everything is good here as I hope it is with you. Yankees hat is retired until after football season.

Joe: Glad you like the cue. I think the spool shows more age than the linen does.

Regards, Roger

I hope it hits as good as it Looks, I plan on making this one my new Player.:)

I may let you hit a couple of balls with it but everyday seems a bit much. Besides.......It would just get lost in that cornucopia of "everyday players" you already have.

This cue is too fancy for you Roger.
Actually as conversion cues go it is really fancy.
I would sell it if I were you.

Wow!
Just wondering, is this the only conversion SW has done or have they done it ever since (JF era)?

They've done a few. I've had 5 over the years but have since sold 2 of them to fellow AZ members. Jerry was far from eager to do the first one. We talked about it for a year before he finally made it. That was over 25 years ago. I know they have done a couple Titlist's and I'm pretty sure this is the only Butterfly cue. I would guess they have done less than 10 total. They don't take orders for them.... it's a pretty rare occurrence.
Regards, Roger

Jerry made several titleist conversions for me years ago.
That takes nothing away from this cue in anyway.
If you decide to sell call me

Your case probably was one I gave to Jerry,Mike Roberts made them for me for South West. Unless they ordered more from Mike

The point is you have a nice cue

Dean

Hi Dean
Your Titlist's are the one's that I was referring to. You and I first met at the shop around that time. Jerry may very well have gotten my case from you. He had at least 3 , he gave me one and I bought another one, Al Lawerence also still has one. As far back as I can remember you had cues from the best makers in the world.
Regards, Roger

I really appreciate the info. And... I LEARNED SOMETHING NEW

Here are a few pics of an Old Butterfly cue that South West just converted. Thanks to Joe (Classiccues) for the Cortland linen to do the wrap. Not very fancy but that's the way I like em. I'll take some better pics of the full cue later.
Regards, Roger

Great looking cue Roger, I did not even know that South West did conversion cues, in fact I like it better than their standard design. How many cues have they built this way?

Thanks for sharing

Hi Craig
Thanks for the compliment on the cue. Take a look at post #12 and #13 I mentioned a little of what I know and Dean added some information in the following post. Take care.
