Butterfly

I have seen this a couple of times and can't understand it. The JP for the butt has a hole in the top!! Why isn't it a solid piece like the JPs for the shafts? Will the extra length make it too long for the standard case? It may be silly but I would want them all to match. Is there a reason for this design?

I guess its 'cause I like to experiment with different designs and things. Came up with this and have been using it for awhile. You can see the bolt/pin in the JP - it is almost flush with the JP so there is no extra length you have to deal with on case size.

In this picture (joint protector for the butt) the pin is a little farther out --- but it doesn't matter since it isn't fitting in a case -- novelty joint protector for the owner of the cue to match the butt cap material (he uses it at home - I built him another jp for use with his case).

On most of the JPs for the shafts I try to mark them (I have tried different things) sometimes with the JM logo and a 1 and the second shaft a JM logo and a 2.

When you look in your case in a dark pool room you can see the pin -- so thats your cue, the JM1 is maybe your favorite shaft, and the JM2 is your standby.

Jack,

I think you're onto something here. I've always liked the combination of butterflys and traditional points. The concern is these designs can look too busy. You've made it look very clean. The design is really nicely balanced and proportionate. It's also interesting. I really like the look of the joint too. Great job. This would probably look good in ebony too.

I've become a fan of that photo! Finally.... a top player who shoots left handed and yet lines up with his right eye over the cue. I really thought I was the only one. Now, when somebody gives me a hard time about the position my head is in, I'll refer them to Jack "Jersey Red" Breit!! Let'm feed on that!!!:D :D  ;)

I love not only the cue but everything it is coming with!

I like especially the attention to the details, such as the ideas on the jps (and the way they are done, they look very-very nice), the photos you took (they show that you are proud of your work and not afraid to show the details of what you've got) and finally the look of the entire cue is just soo solid and well-balanced that it's just scary :) Imo TATE was very right, this cue ebony would be a showstopper too!

Once again: exceptional work, I frankly hope that you will keep things like this coming!
