Buy my Runde Era Schon now....

Re: Schon

Hey,
I just put a $450 Bid and didn't meet the reserve, I'm wondering what you're trying to get out of it. Now, This is of course just my opinion, but I've owned about Runde Schons in the last 3 years, and I value the cue with those shafts, the same way that I'd value it with no shafts really aren't functional for most players because of the size and length. But who knows, maybe you'll find someone who just wants to put it in their collection. ............................ OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Thank You, Greg

Thanks for the opinions.

The Schon inscription is still on the butt. The butt is 100% perfect as if Bob just finished himself.

About the longer shaft, you will have lots of opinions about them. Untill you play with one, you will never know.

Anyone over 6' tall, unless they have lil mini me arms, NEEDS a cue longer than 58" or they are not using their stroke to thier full potential.

Only reason I am selling this one, which I am goint to regret to all hell since I waited for one this prestine for over 10 years, is because I am ordering a Cue Perfect in 65" length.

I am only 6'3.5" and this Schon, as long as it is, is still not as long as I need it and this shaft is as LONG as Evan Clarke would build. He will not make a shaft any longer than 32" long, trust me, I asked him. And his wait is too long for a custom longer butt.

My camera sucks ass but I will try to get some better pictures of the hand cut points, wrap, butt cap or shafts if anyone is interested....

Dick, you're warm. Getting warmer mind you, but not there yet.

For what it is worth, the 32" shaft was a bit over $200.00 with shipping and having it professionally refinished with the leather wrap and OE shaft was over another $200.00...

Happy E-baying......

Doesn't the extended length shaft affect the balance of the cue? When a longer cue is put together the shaft and butt sections are the same length... I agree the 3 shafts are essentially worthless... you might do better selling the extended length shaft seperately to get your money out of it, if you have to relist this auction...

You'd be amazed at the balance of this stick.

It is actually better IMHO with the 32" Shaft on it. Not butt heavy or front heavy, as close to what I would consider perfect as it comes.

Also, their are a lot of people who prefer the thinner shafts.....

With my Gorilla hands, I am just not one of them...

I can get a ton of action out of them though!

I used the skinnier shafts for about 2 months before I got it refinsihed and got the new long shaft for it.

I'll take it !!!!

Greg, I want this cue I have a nice old Schon shaft for it. As for the 11.5 shafts I had a Schon with a 12mm shaft and I sold it to a guy and he had it taken down to 11mm. A good friend of mine would love to have that 32" shaft for his Schon so this cue must be for me. Send me a pm with the price you want and lets make a deal. One Question does the BUTT Roll straight? And what about those shafts do they roll straight also. Thanks

All 3 shafts as well as the butt roll as good as they day they were made. This stick was well waken care of before I purchased it and has been completly restored since I aquired it.

As I mentioned, I've got over $400.00 into Resto and 1 new shaft, Not including buying the cue in the first place. This stick needs nothing, except to be used...

The Butt is Flawless and has been certified of year and build by Evan Clarke of Schon cues this year when I aquired it.

One thing you got to realize is that you cant tack on the restoration to the cue value... you restored it so you could play with it or maybe get what its worth, but this is still a basic model Runde Schon... I have seen previously owned base model Runde schons for $875... I am not sure what you are asking for it, but not everyone likes that thin a shaft and when it gets that small you cant go too much futher in the future so how long will they last... maybe sell those to a snooker player...

I think $800 would be a fair price for this cue...

Here is the cue I am referring to...

http://www.welovepool.com/scbobrupocu.html

Its a Runde Schon with Inlays and 2 shafts... The seller is asking $875 and it has been there for like 2 months already...

My reserve is set below what he is asking, my cue is in better shape AND mine has a leather wrap....

You will never find another 80's Runde Era cue as perfect and flawless as mine....

That said, I would like to sell it as I need the money for my next cue purchase......

But I dont need it bad enough to give away this vintage peice of history for next to nothing.....

This cue is flawless or I wouldn't own it myself since I am one of the most discriminate people you have ever seen when it comes to cues....

Didn't mean to diss your cue or anything, sorry if I did... It's just that I dont think Rundes are selling very well right now, maybe cuz there are so many options out there now... I just bought the Runde 02-S in my avatar for well below retail... quite a bit of ivory, 8pts for $1,525... Good Luck getting your price...

Shaft size

YOU'D HAVE A LOT MORE LUCK WITH NORMAL SHAFT SIZES. THE 11.5'S ARE TOO SMALL, AND THE EXTRA LENGTH ON THE OTHER ONE IS NOT ATTRACTIVE TO MOST BUYERS EITHER. IT'S A NICE CLASSIC SCHON THOUGH. GOOD LUCK WITH THE SALE.

I couldn't have said it better. I think the shafts are too small and too long for most pool players. You have a rare Schon and it should sell easily with normal size shafts IMO.

I agree with you on the 11.5MM shafts, but nothing I can do about them.

I love the cue with the 32" shaft on it, if you have never tried one you will love it. Especially if you spend as much time on a 12' Snooker table as I do :p

That said, Evan will build a standard 29" Shaft with the stitch ring joint and Schon inscription for under $150.00. So you would have a Prestine rare Runde Era Schon with a brand new shaft for one hell of a deal.

He will also cut down this 32" shaft and referrule it for only $40.00, I have already discussed that with him when I ordered it. He said "it's better to order it longer than you want it and fatter than you want it and then have it cut down, than to order it to small and be stuck with it"......

I agree.....

Thank you for your valued opinion.

Also, the pics don't show it too well since my camera "Sucks" but there are 5 different woods in that inlay......

The Blue colored wood against the Ebony is breathtaking....

They would have sold it easily for that but the cue has rounded inlays and does not have stitch rings. It's an earlier splice but made at a later date. My buddy who was starting Schon collection wanted to buy it and asked me what I thought it was worth. At the time they were asking over $1,000 if I recall. I told him I didn't buy cues with sharp points and rounded inlays. I told him $600 - $700 as a playing cue.

As far as Jedi's Schon, it is a nice one. I think it's worth more parted out and a lot of Schon collectors are looking for stitch ring shafts. There are a lot of players who like thin shafts and extra length. The two extra shafts would bring in at least $250, and the cue should auction for $600 - $700 with one good original shaft.

Jedi, it hurts the value that you have no feedback. Selling it as one big package brings in the lowest value - it's like giving the extra shafts away for free. I would part if out, set a price on the cue and best original shaft for $700, and see what transpires.
