Buyers Beware of Pathman

As I had stated before, the case was not cut when I was opening the package. Besides the packaging was as followed: case was individually bubble wrapped and in a large box with the peanut foams. I DID NOT open the case with a knife of anysort, it was completely unnecessary to use a knife. All I did was use my car key to break the tape on the top side of the box and then was able to open the rest of the packaging by hand without much trouble at all. The case did not come near to contacting any sharp or blunt objects, not even my keys (I just used the key to open the box, not the bubble wrap). Besides as TATE stated above, the cut is old. I also had stated that prior to this post as well.

He probably got all geeked when it came and in a hyper way hacked at the package and butchered up the case....

I'm real glad to see this pic. I'm sure being the expert that he is, Tate can attest to the fact that there is clearly dye around the imperfections. This case is less than a year old. I did not dye, clean or otherwise alter this case. Why don't we see what Jack Justis has to say about those marks. I never noticed them, I don't think they could have been made anytime after the case was stained and sealed due to the coloring around them. I also don't believe hotdogg did this when opening the box. enough already, its a great case that you agree you like, what more do you want. I recieved the case in the exact condition you have it now with the exception of the scuffing on the bottom of the plastic feet.

I will be presumptuous and tell you exactly what all the posters here are thinking.
We are thinking you were right in questioning the deal and pointing out the cut.
I think most of us would refuse the case. I think you should contact paypal and file a
complaint if he won't refund you. Also, if you paid by credit card, stop payment
on it.

Chris

Ps. Hottdogg - I have 4 or 5 Justis Cases. They are very durable. If it makes you feel any better,
my daily player has various scuff marks and it looks fine. Of course it's 10 years old (second case
from the left) http://www.palmercollector.com/JackJustis.html I have one that is pristine, unused
from 1994, that I keep protected for prosterity. If you are inclined to keep the case, you
will not regret it. Once it is scruffed up and broken in, the cut won't stand out as much.

Battle Scar for sure

Yep that's a battle scar. A box cut would be lenght wise.
Hotdogg is there a dollar figure that would make you happy. I would present the offer to Pathman. If he accepts it all is good. Pathman although it is just a battle scar and might even add character It is the custom on this forum as I am sure you know to offer sales with a satisfaction guarantee. You should accept return and split shipping.
If it comes to that get with PoolSleuth he always knows someone lokking for a good deal on a Justis case:D :D Maybe you can have Hotdogg dropship.:D :D

Mike I applaud you for such a courageous and truthful post. When I pmed you I thought that it might be possible that you had not known about the cut, but you came to the quick conclusion that I was just being a pain in the you know what. The reason I pmed you was not to complain but to reach a resolution. Even if the case was how it was when you got it, it still does not exactly solve the problem. But at least now, we have come to somewhat of a better understanding of the problem. Mike pm me please for options of possible resolution and thoughts on this situation.

Nice advice Judge Wopner, who the hell do you think you are? Nothing good ever comes from these what do you think posts. It's always the same, people with absolutely no clue about what is really going on just blowing off gas.

I think that this should be settled in private. Only the two invovled truly know how to make it right. We can only make observations which may help or it may hurt. However, we are not invovled so we need to let hotdogg and pathman take care of the situation. Thats my two cents for what its worth.

i would bet the farm those cuts are not "stained". all it takes to make these marks look like they're "stained" is some Pledge or mink oil. i've owned plenty of jack's cases and many others as well and these darker marks always happen when you use a leather cleaner or polish. those cuts look pretty significant in size to me and if it would have been my case i know i would have noticed them. what happend who knows. it's very easy to settle though. have hotgogg request a refund here on this forum and if it's taken then all is good. if refused by Pathman we know the deal, if refused by hotdogg then we also know the deal. settle it boy's. good luck to you both

this could be alittle more difficult then just a simple refund..

the question is.. was the case like that when pathman sent it? or is that something that happened afterwards? it clearly doesnt have any slits in Bogey's pics...

something doesnt seem right here...

chris

The case was as I described when I received it. Besides the cuts are clearly old as both TATE and Pathman have already stated.

If the cuts were already there and Pathman did not disclose them in the description then he should refund you. If he accurately described the case - including the cuts, then you shouldn't complain. From the photos it appears that those cuts are old and were there well before you ever received it. If Pathman offers a satisfaction guarantee, then he should follow through with it. Just an objective opinion after reading all of these posts.

Look closely at the first picture in Bogey's post. The marks, cuts, slits or whatever the hell they are, are clearly in the pic if you look closely. I don't know where they came from. I did not, I repeat NOT, attempt to cover up these imperfections with dye, polish, mink oil etc. I never new they were there, it was and is a new case. I have pm'd him and asked him what he wanted to do. I will not discount the case further, it is already a great deal for a new pro-lite and thats that. I will sell this case ten times over at the price he paid. He can keep it or send it back, those are the only options available. I've pm'd and he has not responded. Like I said, this guy likes the case but can't resist the opportunity to complain in a public forum. What the hell else can be done. Perhaps TATE aka Barney Fife, would like to fund his legal expenses and sue me in the courts. Lawyer up ladies. This bs will not hurt my reputation with the people who know me, have fun with this post. I know I always like reading this stuff, I just don't feel compelled to get involved.

Your options to the customer sure seem fair and sensible Mike. I don't think any of the regulars here would ever hesistate to deal with you. Seeing how the matter has been addressed in a stand up way, the thread has basically provided some AZB drama and entertainment. YMMV.

Thanks for the support Martin. I always enjoy looking at those Prewitts you post. I still have no idea how this got blown this far out of context.

No biggie

If this is as bad as it gets with Pathman I need to start getting cues from him!
