Buyers Beware of Pathman

That's obvious.

Hey Chris, can we starting calling you 'Judge Woppner' now? Or would you prefer 'Barney Fife'? I'm kidding of course.

(my dog keeps farting, which reminded me to go check this thread again).

I prefer Roy Bean, the hanging judge, and Harry Callahan (Dirty Harry).

But first you have to ask yourself. "Do I feel lucky?.

Well, do ya punk?

I went and read your original ad and looked at the sales pictures, mysteriously none of which show the sides of the case. If I received the case like that based on your sales description, I'd ask for a refund AND come make a post like this. This place is for 100% honest people to sell stuff, and sales like this give all the sellers here a bad name. Your posts in this thread, Pathman, and your cheap shots at other members who don't agree with you make you look like a dishonest elitist sourpuss who is not concerned with the satisfaction of your "pain in the ass" customers. You're definitely in the wrong line of business.

I'm going to make sure and check this thread before I deal with anyone too, because those of you who feel like Pathman is someone good to do business with don't meet my standards. I'm only a buyer here too, so happy lost business to you folks!

My thoughts also:p

It has been suggested that those cuts or whatever came from the manufacturer that way. No comments on the way this was handled but I know Mr Justice posts here and I would like him to state he would have allowed that case out new to a customer that way. I just can't see him sending it out new..maybe as a second..but surely not as new.

Look closely at the first picture in Bogey's post. The marks, cuts, slits or whatever the hell they are, are clearly in the pic if you look closely. I don't know where they came from. I did not, I repeat NOT, attempt to cover up these imperfections with dye, polish, mink oil etc. I never new they were there, it was and is a new case. I have pm'd him and asked him what he wanted to do. I will not discount the case further, it is already a great deal for a new pro-lite and thats that. I will sell this case ten times over at the price he paid. He can keep it or send it back, those are the only options available. I've pm'd and he has not responded. Like I said, this guy likes the case but can't resist the opportunity to complain in a public forum. What the hell else can be done. Perhaps TATE aka Barney Fife, would like to fund his legal expenses and sue me in the courts. Lawyer up ladies. This bs will not hurt my reputation with the people who know me, have fun with this post. I know I always like reading this stuff, I just don't feel compelled to get involved.

I have looked closely. I don't see any cuts in Bogey's Picture. If they were there when you bought it, that's between you and Bogey. You continue to call the case new. It is already in the hands of at least the 3rd owner. It is not new. Shoot if you put chalk on a cue to test hit people will call it used.
You have stated that you are unwilling to make an adjustment. You have offered to accept a return, that should settle it. It is now up to Hotdogg to either accept it as is or return it.

Sorry I didn't consult you before I took the pics. I'm not in this line of business, nor do I want to be. Just a hobby and usually a way to have fun and meet a few nice people, but you can't like everybody you meet, right? I will be damn sure to remember you're name, and If I ever by some miracle I offer something up for sale that happens to meet you're exacting standards, well you know what to do......don't you?

Look closely, I promise you can make them out, not that it matters. The case is like new, it has never been in a car outside of a box. This is all really semantics, new, like new, slightly less than new. And for all of the people who think test hitting a cue makes it not new, well, I don't even really know what to say. The only business where trying an item for a short time makes it not new, is say the restaurant business. If you take a bite out of your burger, it's not new anymore. I never sought to hide anything from this guy, I never noticed the imperfections, my favorite case is made from leather off of a 100 yr old buggy seat. I don't nit-pick leather cue cases, especially at highly discounted prices. The only way to ever get a truly perfectly new unblemished leather product of any kind is to buy it new and make sure it is heavily dyed, or I promise, you will see something that is not quite uniform. I got the case at a discounted price and re-sold the case at a discounted price, if I had willfully mislead hotdogg in any way, I would expect all this ridicule. I will not discount this case or make any concessions, he can keep it, or he can return it, period end of story.

Sorry pathman, but in the end, not only is hotdog 100% right, but you are 100% wrong.

The case was obviously damaged before shipped. The damage was undisclosed. The buyer deserves a refund, as you offered.

If you were really intent on doing a "fair" business transaction, even after all of the above happened, than you should have worked it out right from the first complaint.

But NO, you forced this poor guy's back to the wall. He took the only recourse he knew. Your "principle" was that you were really pissed about taking a loss on an item you have had for months. You made things worse by not correcting the initial wrong.

You came to this thread in a very elitist and arrogant way, and you want people to believe you treated him fairly when he initially complained to you?

I agree that at best it was an honest mistakeon your part, but why all the unnecssary bad businesspractices afterwards?

I, like a few previous posters, because of your attitude, would not do business with you in the future.

Thank you hotdog for bringing this to everyones attention.

With so many products, sellers and options for goods and services that exist in this world, why would anyone choose to enter into a transaction knowing the potential for disatisfaction is only a click away with pathman?

Any communication fron HOTDOGG in terms of what he wants to do?

To RACKEM,

I don't think the case was described as NEW.
I'm SURE Mike didn't know about the "imperfection".
He is still waiting to hear from HOTDOGG.

Mike,

You are making matters worse by insulting people. The members are calling it like they see it. There comes a time where it's better to say "maybe I messed up, maybe I didn't, but I'm going to make it right".

Once you do, nobody can say a darn thing anymore.

Sorry we dont agree Tate, you are a well respected poster and I really enjoy your website. I have offered to take the case back, but I admit nothing. This is a simple case of buyer's remorse and that's it. And as far as the insults go, this whole damn thread is insulting to me, don't provoke a bull unless you are prepared to be trampled.

CHRIS,

Mike extended that option to HOTDOGG.

It is a real relief to know that we will not be doing any business, thank you

If this is buyers remorse HOTTDOG would send the case back.

guys,

mike has been dealing cues since ive been in diapers.

he has had a top notch rep for 20+ years.

for you guys to jump in and tell him what to do is a joke.

he already stated the guy NEVER asked for a refund, and dogg agreed.

DOGG even stated he loved the case!

a post like this really shows who the nits are.
