Buying a table: whats the best 7ft table for this price range?

I am looking to spend around 1200$ on a 7ft table for my house. What tables can you get that will last for this price?

While not the prettiest...just pick up a nice Valley or Dynamo bar box. They are built extra heavy duty for commercial use. Fresh Simonis and maybe new rails on a used one and they play great. I have one in my home. I'd much rather have one than about any home style furniture table.;) You can find a nice used one for about $500-600. Spend the extra money on premium balls and a nice light.

Where can you find one of those for that price??? I looked all around for a used table about 6 months ago and they were all far more than that. I ended up buying a new AMF brand 7' table from a company in Charlotte. I had brand new simonis put on it, belgium balls, shimmed up the pockets to about 4 1/8" and it plays pretty good. Ended up costing less than $2,000 after delivery and set up. My only advice on getting a home table.....make sure you have plenty of room! There is absolutely nothing more frustrating than playing pool and having to shoot jacked up. Good luck finding your table.

Thanks, I have seen some valley tables around for near there- i may just have to grab one.

How much is it to get a nice new simonis and new rubber?

I've seen many valley bar boxes for 200 to 800 dollars. Numerous ammounts of them for sale all over. Vending companies sell them, sometimes... Might be worth a call if you are in a smaller town...

I'm not so sure I would get Simonis on a bar table for 2 reasons

1 - play is just too fast for a small table. You can get anywhere pretty easy without a fast cloth

2 - I'd rather keep the home equiptment as close to any other tables I may play on like a local tournament. Not too many bars are gonna have simonis so you will feel a little lost, IMO.

I am adding on to my billiard room and am going to add a bar box and a 10 footer if I can find one... I am 100% certain I will get my hands on a good valley bar box for $500 or less. I'll redo the rubber and cloth myself and get a new set of balls. I expect to pay no more than $900 total.

Keep looking, you will find a good one cheap. They are everywhere.

Exactly what I was thinking to say. My buddy has a like new Valley commercial table with new Simonis cloth. Guys who set it up were there for almost three hours, and let me tell you it's hooked up. It plays great. I spend hours a week playing on this table.

I agree

Simonis is too fast on a bar table, and btw, there are 2 sizes of bar tables,
a true 7 footer (in bars mostly), and an oversized 7 footer (in Pool rooms).

The oversized 7 footer plays much better than the smaller one.

I would recommend Championship Mercury Plus cloth. I think it plays and
lasts the best on a Bar Table.

There is nothing wrong with Valleys, and I would chose it over Dynamo, which always seem out of sync to me between rails and pockets.

BUT, the best 7 footer is Diamond Pro/Am table, but it is not in your price range.

How much are these diamonds?

Also how much approx to get someone to hook up a cloth and rails?

Good luck finding a 7ft Diamond ProAm for under $3000.00 even used. They Diamond ProAm's are one of the most sought after tables on the market. I've even seen them sold used for more than the price of new, just because of the wait to get one.

Yea, they are nice Ive played on them before.

The best way to get a good deal on a Diamond table is go to Vegas during BCA and they sell the tables off afterwards but you have to get it home...My friend bought 4 of them and had brought his big truck and hauled them home..He put them in our local pool establishment and we play on them during league...SWEET.....He paid something like $9,000.00 for the four of them....I don't know what just one would sell for....But a lot cheaper than new......
