Buying Diamonds at tournament's

GCs can play good, but not as well as Diamonds. If you can't tell the difference, that's ok.

Here is desk what you mean why you say “PLAY”.

Play is like the word “Hot”, some people define hot as one tempeture,or say that not hot.

You have not defined play, it like trying to describe perfect wave.

Surfers argue about this.
How about we just go with consistency? Diamonds are far more consistent than GCs. And they are easier to adjust if necessary. I've played on some great GCs, lots of times. Also played on plenty of GCs that are trash. Never seen a trash Diamond before... Maybe some day.

Well what you said from my mind if the Table is Set Up Right.

That is the job of the stet up person, to get it right.

Possible if you have skilled mechanic.

Rookie can screw up job.

There is guy in Valley who use to do Retipping of Cues, he was hack, tip constantly fell off.

His last in house shop was River City Pockets, on Bell.

He seem to have disappeared, he tried his had at build Cues.🤮🤮🤮

I've got a very well sorted Gold Crown I that looks brand new and plays lights out. It was a well taken care of table that was only recovered a couple times during its life so it had good bones. I restored the cosmetics, has the subrails extended and calibrated and Diamond Black Cushions installed. Two years later it still rolls true and plays fantastic. By comparison, our local pool hall has first gen Diamonds (with Pro Billiard Tour logos). The tables are fairly beat as they've been in the room since new and do not play near as good as my Gold Crown. My point is, as the Diamond Blue labels age and are subject to the decades of abuse most Gold Crown's have experienced in their lifetime, they may not play as great as they do today as they are still fairly new. Just like anything, there will be exceptions (like my table) that do not get abused. Any table can be made to play excellent but it all depends on the person doing the work. We've all seen some of the nightmares new Diamond customers have had because the installers were not up to snuff.

But one things for sure about old people, they won't be complaining much longer, as time is not on their side!
nah no way..watch your mouth...I'm staying around for spite..to piss everyone off. Just for the funk of it. I'm a lifetime lover of GC's. Especially the 4 and the first one's with the ashtrays. It's very fair to say ...replace a CG with a Diamond and you'll never look back. I still have the 4 but the Diamond Pro makes a wonderful statement. The quality is not to be argued with. It's more than there.

Bingo. My guys checked out on paper and research. It was all good until showtime.

Its not about the looks of a table, that is really irrelevant.
It is the build quality, reliability and consistency that matters.
Maybe to you, but certainly not to everyone. I would say the looks of a table are not "irrelevant" to the vast majority of people who do buy a table.

The importance of looks vs playability will certainly vary from one person to the next, but to categorically say the look of a table is irrelevant is utter nonsense.

If looks could kill a beautiful GC is a mass murderer

Agreed. I love the GC look above all others. I know it's not a super popular opinion, but I also love the look of the Rasson Victory. Most Diamonds look very "meh" to me. Though I don't mind the look of the Professional.

Rasson is a sharp looking table. It was my second choice however could not find anyone to do a good/proper install. One dealer wanted $150 an hour at 10 hours and I would have paid that but I have seen their work before. Back to Diamonds. They have a lot to offer finish wise but their blacks table have a classy look of their own.

Same here but I'm a bit biased.

What all of you fail to understand is the difference in functionality vs design.
The ProAm and Smart tables were not designed to win any beauty contest, that's not their function!

There single purpose function was to be portable, to be loaded up, transported, unloaded, rolled in, flipped down, leveled and ready to play!

The second requirement of its functionality was to play as good, or better than the competition!

One might say Diamonds are the prettiest ugly duck on the pond, but make no mistake, they're the ONLY duck on that pond as well.

All the tables mentioned, couldn't hold a candle to Diamonds functionality, as Predator just found out, getting 2 black eyes and kicked in the balls trying to swim in Diamond's pond with their HOME STYLE 9ft! They have a lot to learn, maybe they will, maybe they won't, time will tell.

And for the GC admirers on here, how many of you bought your GCs NEW? How many of you got a basement bargain price on a used GC which is why you bought it?
Take all the talked about 9fts right now, Predator, Rasson, Gold Crown, Diamond ProAm all are around $10K by the time you're ready to break that first rack of balls.

Change you mind after a month, and try selling that 9ft😅🤣😂 all of you lost at least 50% of your purchase price, except the person who bought the Diamond!!!!
Want an example? I'm picking up 8 9ft Diamond ProAms, used, and selling them for the customer for what he bought them for, 4 years ago, so he's not out a penny on them!!

Can ANY of you say that about ANY OTHER POOL TABLE ON THE PLANET being built today?

Don't compare Diamonds in a beauty contest, compare what YOU think is the best table built against what the DIAMOND was designed to do, and see if YOUR pick still holds up!!
