Buying Diamonds at tournament's

Our community room blew 100K on Diamonds, money would have been spent in quality house cues, and quality ball cleaner.

BFD DIAMONDS are nothing special IMHO, just 🐂💩 hype.

Table is nothing but FLATE LEVEL SURFACE COVERED IN QUALITY CLOTH, WITH DECENT RAILS.

I personally don’t get all the Diamond hype, total 🐂💩 IMHO.
I guess if you actually OWNED a pool table, you might have a better understanding!!!

Me also, if I was wealthy, had big house, would want Old Brunswick Anniversary Table. Like below.😎

Keep dreaming, if you haven't got one by now, you NEVER will! How old are you now, 75?

Love Diamond tables, we only have a few venues with them here.

I would buy a container load vs. The local guys prices here in Australia.
That is not the issue, Sydney rent... This whole city has been in top 5 most expensive places to live for years.
I would have to sell a few businesses and properties to buy a place big enough for a mixed income venue for a proper decent poolhall in Sydney. About a $2M build as well on top of that.
The USA still has it good, enjoy it.

Now I know about these deals though after tournaments, I might replace my home table at least and get a few people in on it to make it worthwhile.
Unless I pay airfare, the install cost included would sky-rocket.
There are a few local table guys here, not sure who I rate.
Anybody rate anybody in Sydney?

RKC, you got contacts down under mate?

Why does it always boil down to being wealthy with you when talking about nice things? In this case, a pool table; specifically an Anniversary. I'm not wealthy, don't have a big house but I do have a very nice room (detached garage) at my house with a fully restored Gold Crown I. Many of my friends and acquaintances have tables at home and they do not meet your inaccurate prerequisites either; mostly Gold Crowns but a couple have Anniversaries, a Diamond or two in the mix as well.

Agreed! We're a single income family (wife homeschools the kids). Our house is under 2,000 square feet, and I have a beautiful 9' diamond set up in my family room. Not wealthy at all. It's all about priorities!

No I don't, but I've seen some pictures of work done, and walked another mate through doing the work himself. Make you a deal though, you buy the round trip, I'll set you up a Diamond for no charge other than some Dr.Peper and some fried chicken😅🤣😂

Really?

Los Angeles and New York City made the Top 10 in 2022 per this list. Pool halls in LA and NY are closing frequently.

It's not as good here as you might think.

Now you are singing my song!

Good food, good drink, good tunes and only one asshole in the pool room...why would one go anywhere else and pay for worse?
Not sure if it was tongue in cheek, but either way, I'm 100% there with you. My table is better and cleaner than any pool hall table around here, the lighting is better, music is definitely way better, and without question a better beer and whiskey selection. And it's all paid for.

I haven't played in a pool hall in over 2 years now, and can't imagine I will ever go regularly again other than tournaments maybe...

Right there with you guys. I only go to the pool hall for BCA league and tournaments. I play mostly at home or the homes of 4-5 of my friends. Why pay table time when you don't have to? Plus, better music, drink and AC! The local pool hall doesn't run it.

Los Angeles is expensive, but it still doesn’t beat the Bay Area for cost of living.

Both are ridiculous. I was surprised San Francisco didn't make the list I posted.

Not a jab at all. I agree 99%- not a big fan of the brown liquor. I'm working on that!
