Buzz, but only when screwed together.

I have an old Palmer that has a little bit of a buzz when I tap the forearm of the assembled cue.

There is no buzz when I tap on the pieces individually.

What could be the cause: Worn insert threads?

Tried a different shaft and the buzz is still there.

I guess it’s something in the joint.

Check the usual culprits like bumper and weightbolts. If those are fine check the joint pin, if that's fine, it's usually the A-joint, which can be a bit of a pain to repair.

They have so many cylinders ( thick.rings ) on those old school cues. They were bound to buzz.

They have so many cylinders ( thick.rings ) on those old school cues. They were bound to buzz.

Take the weight bolt out and try turning those rings see if there's any movement.
