Buzz, but only when screwed together.

I have an old Palmer that has a little bit of a buzz when I tap the forearm of the assembled cue.

There is no buzz when I tap on the pieces individually.

What could be the cause: Worn insert threads?

Check the usual culprits like bumper and weightbolts. If those are fine check the joint pin, if that's fine, it's usually the A-joint, which can be a bit of a pain to repair.

PhilosopherKing, Howdy;

Are you referring to the harmonic vibration that results after you've screwed the cue together and you tap lightly
on the forearm or is there a noise that accompanies it?

No. This is something else.

Mr. Webb helped find the likely culprit.
