Yep. Referee was a pretty sporty player too.Great match. Crazy end to it.
CJ's 'do' belongs in the mullet HOF.Yep. Referee was a pretty sporty player too.
Now he belongs in the bald HOF. One of the best to come out of the state of Missouri. I enjoy his stories from the past.CJ's 'do' belongs in the mullet HOF.![]()
IMO both those were just what i call 'experience shots'. I don't think a lot of calculation went into either one.Mike Siegel hit one of the best shots I've ever seen here:
How did he measure the track to the 9-ball? It looked like he pointed to diamond #1 on the long rail with his stick. If the 9-ball didn't drop he still had a perfect safety. Amazing.
I'm also curious how CJ measured his kick shot here:
You can see CJ measuring some tracks with his stick.
I never knew Jay's nickname was...Where is Jay? They zoomed into his head and gave him some dating advice. Ha ha.
Jay has always been cool with his nickname far as I know. He’s not one who wouldn't speak up if he didn’t like it. That’s one thing I really like about Jay-there’s no guess work where you stand with him. I really respect that about him.I never knew Jay's nickname was...
Toupee Jay!!!
Sorry Jay! Hope you have a sense of humor about it. All in fun.
I’m slow. I can’t tell if you did or didn’t know that Jay‘s nickname is Toupee Jay. I’m saying this because some AZ poster pointed at Jay one time at the DCC and said he looked like Toupee Jay. He has no idea that Jay Helfert was Toupee Jay before Pool Hall Junkies was ever conceived.I never knew Jay's nickname was...

I wondered that too the first time I watched it but if you replay it you will see he walked down to the end of the table and lined up the combination with his cue. He played the kick combination.Did he play that 9 ball on the case game? He had a decent kick safe there he passed on.
What i meant was they weren't using some system and doing calculations. Both of them have the pre-requisite 'half a million balls' under their belt. They see these shots come up and just know by experience and feel what to do.I would disagree. Using the proper angle (i.e. tangent line) coming off that 6 and using the right amount of English that shot is very doable. Now, using the right amount of English and speed, so you don't masse or you masse on purpose, is a different story - that takes experience.
