Alright... any of you cats know how to mix your own CA Accelerator, other than the water and baking soda trick?

Find yourself a good source for heptane... This makes an OUTSTANDING industrial strength accelerator. I just hope you don't smoke while you work.....:D

Have no idea where to buy that. Does it evaporate quickly? I can't think that is what is in the commercial accelerators because those aren't flammable.

You have a recipe you use with Heptane?

If you are using the Super Glue for a finish I have found that the Satelite City Hot Stuff and Super T to be good for finish. But I don't use their accelerator. I buy the Atlas accelerator and like it better than the stuff Satelite City makes.

ouch

Watch your fingers with that stuff. I accidently sprayed some on a piece I was holding when mocking up a jig I was building. I had a drop of ca glue on my fingertip and diddent know it. It burned 2 layers of skin in a hurry. I have used this stuff for years and never burned myself before. Just a warning for everyone out there. Chris Byrne.

Hey Partner, I would try this product. It dries completely clear if used as per the directions on the can.

There is nothing better, most of these products will cause bubbles to form because of the reaction, this will not.

In most cases the bubbles will be seen as a white cloudy area, I have been using this product for five months and have never had any of these problems occur.

Here is a picture of the product, you can buy it most places for around $6 a can.

No, they would never use anything volatile commercially. Shipping / storage is a pain, and most dumb-a$%^ would hurt themselves. Heptane makes CAs bond instantly with NO degredation to strength or color.

Manwon,

I called all the hobby shops in my area, none stocked it.
Thnx

Can you give me some idea where to search for it locally? I have no clue where to even start. Hardware store is not a candidate, is it? What is it used for mostly, maybe I can start there?

How about someplace that supplies autobody types. My friend paints vehicles and he always has accelerator in his van. Not sure where he gets his stuff.
