I think Danny Medina was also in tcom. Scene at hall when Vincent wants Carmen to go back to the hotel and she says she has dated worse guys.

Not quite the same now. Now people would be wondering what tip and chalk Cruise used to make those stop shots.

I never met the Beard in person, but we spoke a few times on the phone before the Encyclopedia came out a couple years ago. I got in on the pre-order list, but hadn't sent my payment a day later. He left me an awesome voicemail where he told me he was going to revoke my spot on the list if I wasn't interested and didn't 'get all the cheese into him" by Pay Pal a couple days later. It felt like I was "IN" one of his road stories, and I got the money to him before he could send a Chicago tush-hog after me to collect.

I replayed the voicemail a bunch of times for my 6year old son. We both got a kick out of his Chicago accent and gambling slang. My son still tells me to give him the 'cheese' when he's asking for a couple bucks.

Great character. Miss seeing his posts around here.

Yes, Freddy was quite the character... as many know, he and my father owned the North Shore Billiard Club, but when this movie was being made, I was already off to college, and missed all the excitement !!!

I heard about it, and got some updates and such. I heard who was involved, the Chicago regulars, including Jarvis (he shot pool at NSBC all the time) and we were about the same age at the time..... Crap, my shoes or arms were this "close" to being an extra in the TCOM. A day late and a dollar short once again ;)

Yes, that's right. Massey was in it. I don't know if any of the other guys at that tournament they went to in the movie were pro's or not...I need to watch it again.

He's in the scene gambling with Cruise before the match between Eddie and Vincent. You see him as Eddie is scanning the room.

Yeah, the trick shot guy? That's right. I had never seen Massey do anything but trick shots until I watched some of the USBTC from 2015. He might not have been in the winners bracket when I saw him but the match I watched was pretty darn sporty. He shoots well.
