Can anyone share a RECENT POSITIVE experience

There have been like 3 or 4 recent thread that are burning like a wild fire out of control.

About a particular cue builder.

I believe there are always a minimum of THREE sides to ever story. Those being party "A?s", party "B's", and last the 100% Total Truth.

I am hoping to be the first one to try and say something positive about a Pool Accessories Supplier, Table Mechanic, Case Builder, Cuemaker, or some one we buy Pool stuff from. Hope other contribute to this thread.

Server weeks ago I saw the NEW Tiger Products

IceBreaker Break/Jump Tips up at the BCA thing in Sin City in May. Got to try out the Tips at the Tiger Booth.

After returning home I decide I wanted a couple of the NEW JB TIPS, so I called Mueller's , and was transfer to their guy who orders stuff like that. We talked, I gave him my e-mail, and he promised to let me know when Mueller's got the NEW Tiger Products IceBreaker Break/Jump Tips in stock.

About 10 day ago I got an e-mail as promised with pricing, sent in my money, and got the Tips the other day in the mail.

Point is everything went as promised like ever time I deal with Mueller

IMHO Mueller?s is good people to spend your money with.

bought a custom case from Brian Bonner of Nittany Leather and just got it a couple days ago...the guy can build a sweet case. everything that i wanted customized, he excuted perfectly. nice guy to deal with, and the case is a steal at his prices.

i would get in line before his cases reach the popularity of a Justis, and the prices of one too

I always have positive experience when dealing with Seybert's.

I also ordered a jump cue from Bryan Fisher and the communication with him was great, cue is in the mail so I can't comment on the cue itself yet... but I'm sure it'll be great :winknudge:

I've had nothing but good experiences with Mueller's.

I once bought a couple of Sir Joseph gloves from them, and found one was defective - the Velcro tab that is usually stitched down well on the back barely had any stinging holding it on. I took a phot and emailed it to them with a description of the issue, and they issued me a credit, no questions.

The kicker was when I didn't use the credit for a couple of months, they just up and sent me a check for it.

I just got my custom cue from Steve Lomax last weekend and its the best hitting cue I have ever owned! The cue was exactly like I wanted and the price was great. Also, Steve is one of the most straight up guys you will ever meet. Positive enough?

I'll chime in on this one. When I was home from Afghanistan in the last few weeks I had the following positive transactions.

-Bought a beautiful 1988 Joss West from Tommie (tommie1351) and by the time we first taked about the cue to the time it was in my hands was four days. Great guy.

-Picked up an incredible Tascarella from Florian (fjk). Same thing the whole transaction was flawless.

-Purchased an ivory jointed McDaniel "Mac Attack" from Mike (spanky981). The cue arrived packed like fort knox in just a couple days.

-Called Roy at IndyQ.com and picked up a great GTF 1x2 case. Roy gave me a REALLY great deal and it arrived in two days. Communication was great.

-Mr. Jack Justis had a tube style case on ebay and I was the lucky winner. I paid as soon as the auction ended and the case showed up just a few days later. Mr Justis and I exchanged itrader info and that's that.

So needless to say it was a good vacation. Please keep in mind I am not "bragging" by any means. I am just trying to show the somewhat cynical az'ers out there that it is possible to have good business experiences here on the forum. A while back a newbie posted something like "why would you buy anything on here?". It is true there are "bad apples" on the forum but the good people out weigh the bad by far.

I still consider myself one of the new guys here but in my short time being on the forum I have a pretty good idea of who to do business with and who to avoid.

Thanks, John

Good topic!

Yes, it's nice to see some positive threads. Almost all of my transactions with AZ members have been positive. I have bought several cues, shafts, and other products from AZ people and have been really pleased with how they handled the transaction. Recently I bought a Troy Downey cue and was impressed with both the cue and the transaction. Others that have been great to deal with include Dickie Neighbors, Joe Nielsen, Joe Baker, Danny Janes, Freddy B., Seyberts, Mueller's, Koinnkid, shinobi, and some I can't think of right now.

I called Pete Tascaralla to inquire about having a shaft made for my Gus Szamboti player. Sent the cue out to him on Thursday next-day air and received the returned cue and the most awesome playing shaft ever made the following Tuesday. The ringwork matched perfectly.

I've got one

Yesterday I bought an old Palmer cue from an elderly gentleman at the pool hall. The cue looks brand new, there is some rollout in the shaft which is to expected for a cue this old, but other than that it looks like it was rarely used. The cue looks like a fancy sneaky pete with a wrap, and the typical Palmer MOP rings on the shaft and joint collar. Not even one nick or scratch, the wrap is in new condition. I could play with it, very solid hit, and a great price. A very positive experience.

Wallace Bettes is very nice to deal with

Bought an Omen cue the beginning of May. I got the cue in 4 days.
I have never bought a cue on the internet before, so of course was a little hesitant at first. But I have absolutely no worries for future transactions. Wallace is a very honest businessman.

Just check my itrader

All of the people I have dealt with on AZB have been a pleasure to deal/buy/trade with.
I have a cue coming from Jim Lee/J&D custom, and I also highly recommend looking into him making a cue for you. Mine is right HERE
And it is in the finishing stages. I can't wait, and this one is a keeper!! Well, until the GOTULANE cue I have him making for me gets here - but that might be a little while. Since people are starting to see Jim's work, and have him making them cues.

I haven't had a bad experience yet, but I have been lucky.
Treat people how you want to be treated, and usually things will work out perfectly. But I appreciate the threads that let all of us know about the BAD GUYS. Isn't that what this site is all about? BTW - I hope people feel dealing with me is a positive experience.
BTW - I have 2 cues available right now - check them out in my signature.

Michael

Now why would you come on here and put a post up like this. This is one of the problems. IMO
Maybe you should just stay over on the Varney thread.

yes indeed those were good times..

Brought a cue from both Joey Bautista and Mason Houghland that went great. Played pool with Bnall that was fun. Caught some fish the other night which was good. Had a good lunch. Cubs are first place in their division. I'm still employed. Love my wife. All of those are positives and really none of them have to do with the internet.

LOL, get a sense of humor. IMO

I recently bought a Bob Frey SP from BigVic. Paid for it via paypal. The cue arrived to me in less the 24 hrs. Excellent deal.

The aforementioned Frey SP needed a refinish(I was aware of the condition of the finish prior to purchase.) I chose Dick Neighbors to do the work. The refinish came out much better than expected. The butt looks completely new, and the shaft was cleaned up with all the nicks, dings removed. I dropped off the cue at his shop on a Thurs. or Fri., and he returned it to me at Michael's in Fairfield, OH on Sun. In addition to the refinish he changed the tip to a sniper... the quality of all the work was beyond what I expected and was outstanding. Not to mention that Mr. Neighbors is a pleasure to talk to.

I will have all my future repair work done by Mr. Neighbors, awesome work, at great prices.
