Can I get reviews on Kamui tips please

Ken,
Even if they feel the same, you want to stick with the Kamui. They hold there shape well, and most of all, don't glaze over like a Moori. Even if they feel the same now, they won't be the same over time!

I bought a Farris cue from Sung Kang ( S K Custom Cues ) it came with a Kamui HARD Tip on it.
When I was showing the cue and shaft to my House Pro - who usually trims my tips before a tournament, he made the comment, " This ain't gonna work for you, this tip is like a Break Cue - I know your style and this ain't gonna work".
I played with it and it was great, maybe helped make the shaft feel a little more crisp, I don't know, but I was able to hit the cue ball a little softer while still getting the action I'm accustomed to - loved it !!!
I'm sure Sung Kang knows what he's doing and I was able to benefit from his knowledge, the tip was trimmed down to just the right height.
Feel was great - no miscues - nice solid hit - good action on the cue ball !!
Was able to adjust to the table just right as in the correct speed on all of my shots.
The hard is really hard, it's even a tough tip to scuff, but it plays great !!!
I have the oppurtunity to order a second shaft from Mr. Farris and I'll probably do so, maybe I'll try a black medium on that one, but for the time being - if it ain't broke - don't fix it, I'm very happy with the Kamui Hard Tip.

Well I tried out the KB SS today and I have to say I did not like it one bit. I like everything about this tip except how it plays. The KB soft is better, but I still don't like it more than a Sniper.
Corey if you read this I will claim for myself that the Sniper is the best tip I have ever used. The first layered tip I used was a Sniper. I liked it a lot, but figured I would try a few others to see if something else fit me better. Each and every time I tried another one I cut it off the same day and went back to the Sniper. I'd imagine that Tiger Products has made a lot of money off of me over the last year by testing other tips from other companies.

I've played with quite a few tips (LePro/Triangle/Elkmaster/Sniper/ Kamuii) and I guess I'm just a Moori III medium guy. Like everything about them. I didn't like the Everest on my 314/2, and tried a Kamuii Medium. The feel and sound just wasn't what I liked compared to a Moori III. The Moori's wear as well as anything, really hold their shape and have a slightly more muted sound I prefer compared the Kamuii. I aerate it with a needle every once in a while, never needed to really scuff one up yet. Just my opinion.

Can anyone tell me if a kamui black hard can hold up good to regular play including breaking? Cuz I'm getting my 1st cue hpefully soon and I'm debating whether or not to pay the extra 20 bucks for the kamui or not. The standard tip is an everest. I'm not 100% sure I'll break with it too, but I will if It works better than a house cue. Thanks.
i like the tips i really do. the first one i had kept glazing over on me but every one after that played good and didn't have that problem.
imo they don't play like a regular leather tip does. they almost feel synthetic or some kind of fake leather tip
About how much play do you put into the new tips before you cut them off? I usually give new tips a few days of break-in period before I do a final trimming and shaping. The characteristics of the tip change over time until it's compressed properly.
Just got one installed today, Kamui Black soft rocks, not really a soft tip, more medium than anything, I hope it won't get hard like most layered tips.
Cannot believe the tip height... is this why you get so much spin?
I can imagine as the tip height lessens, you loose a little performance...?
Any thoughts on this?
The Kamui Tip will not get harder because the glue is not soaked into the tip.
The tip height is there for you to adjust to your liking. The shorter the tip the less compression(flex)(grip) the tip has. please look at this video.
The flex + grip of the ball = more spin.
You decrease the flex of the tip 2 ways.
1. go to a harder tip
2. take some of the layers off.
Gripping the ball is how pourous the tip is and how well the chalk holds to the tip. The chalk is the teeth... ;-)
As for a Kamui Black SS... It is a whole different animal. You MUST give it several days of play to understand the tip.
There is so much on the horizon with Kamui I wish I can tell you now! But be confident in our brand and give it a chance.
