Just a regular old matching Gold Crown light over my GC.
Those new Predator (I think that's what they are) arena lights are nice and bright but they make kind of weird reflections on the balls, I never realized how much I relied on the light reflections on the balls when aiming until I played under that lighting.

Trent , correct me if I'm wrong, This is much like the L P Chinese table screen ... They advertise a lot in Joy 8 Ball games on YouTube...

The light heads clip into the tracks so I could swap them out if I want to go with something different. I don't know if it's the dark cloth or the location and spread of the light, but there is a shadow under the cushions that makes the edges of the dark balls hard to see. The traditional light is centered and much lower which seems to reduce the shadow under the nose of the cushion. Most of the modern lights are mounted up high so there must be a solution.

Here’s mine. LED panel is a 2x6 FiN Wide option from Lite-Systems. They use standard LED panels & basically you’re paying for a very nicely crafted, modern styled aluminum frame & hanging kit, but its pretty pricey & heavy. These LED panels are now widely available super cheap, so doing it over I would definitely do the DIY option. The 4x2 kits from SuperBrightLEDs look pretty great; sub $150 each and they now sell super cheap frames, hanger kits, and wirless controllers/switches, everything you need. I think one 4x2 is great for a 7’ table, and maybe enough for a 9’ but I would go for 2 of them to get a 2x8 panel. Amazing, low energy, super clean low profile, adjustable color lighting for sub $400. With wireless wall switch, there is almost no electrical wiring to deal with, super easy to hang - pretty hard to beat!

On mine, I added a small strip of blue LED on the top of the panel, on its own switch. Gives a cool soft blue glow on the ceiling above thats a gorgeous compliment to the tournament blue cloth & functions nice as a night light, since my pool room is near the foyer entrance of my house. Stole the idea from a pool room I saw in Tokyo.

Good luck!

I need to make a decision in the very near future on what type of light to hang over a 9ft GC1 I have coming in a few weeks. Ideally, I'd like something more clean and modern. Curious as to what others are doing?
If your interested, I have a custom made LED table light for sale $400.00. 8' long
