I need to make a decision in the very near future on what type of light to hang over a 9ft GC1 I have coming in a few weeks. Ideally, I'd like something more clean and modern. Curious as to what others are doing?
Congrats on getting a GREAT table!!! Very happy for you. You’ll get some good ideas here, anyone who is getting a GC1 is deserving of the best advice this forum can give you.I need to make a decision in the very near future on what type of light to hang over a 9ft GC1 I have coming in a few weeks. what size table is that? I was thinking with I went with this style light and it was 5' or so above the table, I could probably go with a 7'x3' light for a 9' table? Here is mine.

This looks like it fits the OP request. Without a shade, does this produce overbearing peripheral light?
no, with the standard square diffuser it is good. The Parabolic Diffuser is what we are going with next and then it will be close to perfection~This looks like it fits the OP request. Without a shade, does this produce overbearing peripheral light?

Can your opponent watch the game you are playing on that screen ?
Don't you ever miss the shadows ... GuyI have a 20 year old Diamond light that works perfect, no shadows. Has the diffuser so you done get the light in your eyes when you sit down and glance up at it. However there are new LED solutions that are just great. They don’t look as good(I like the old school look) but they work great.
Heaven... Guy...Here is mine.

Old school look and I like it just fine. The bottom line is when I miss a shot I can’t blame the lighting. Okay back to my Bert Kinister drills!
Edit: checkout some Littman lighting while you are researching this topic. I’ve heard great things about them. Below is a link.
