Can someone tell me about this Brunswick?

I've never seen a Brunswick like this. It's available for sale on my local Craigslist, and I was thinking about picking it up. 9' too.

Could someone give me a model name on this, and any experience with them if possible.?

That doesn't look like any Brunswick I've ever seen. I could be wrong, but I think it's a Scamswick. Johnnyt
 
YUP, its a BRUNSWICK.Model is called Sierra. See attached photo of owners manual. A very dated HOME model from the early 70s. SORRY JOHNNYT! lol

I set one of those up and recovered it...........hated it, every second. lots of particleboard. just wasn't a good table, didn't like the hardware, the aprons were terrible....ok, i'll stop lol, just my opinion

WOW...good to know.

What if I could get it for $100?....is it worth it? It seems like it's in good condition. It would be my first table; should I just hold out of a GC?
 
you have to be careful about the presswood, plastic corner miters and the slate liner. the slate liner is separate from the slate, I've had them break before, I advise shimming with a flat shim and not a wedge. for a hundred bucks I would buy it.
 
As I recall it was 1" thick slate. Sold new for $900 (fair trade in effect back then), in the mid 1960's. Or at least one that looked an awful lot like it did.
 
I see thaem all the time on Craigslist and ebay most sell for around $400. Its just a home table not a player or something worth putting money into to become a player.

Like everyone else says plastic corner break easy most of the time the vinyl siding is peeled off or chipped up.

Slate worth the $100 for future repairs on other tables.

There's better tables popping up all the time. Hold out for something better.

Thanks for all the hopeful replies guys. You know how sick you can feel when you miss a bargan--maybe I dodged a bullet this time.

I'm gonna just put in to a GC 1 nickel by nickel. I just HATE the pool hall nearest to my house.
 
Were do you live? I know of a few Gold Crowns around the states. A Few people on here like to help out and locate stuff. I have a friend getting ready to head to the south and I can put 1 of 16 gold crowns floating around here in my area most or GC2 and few GC3 no 4's that I know of.
I'm sure a few on here know were a few are too.
