Hey everyone!

I found this Mcdermott cue at a garage sale, and picked it up for a few bucks. I was wondering if anyone could help me with any info about it. Like what model it is, about when it was made, and if it's worth anything?

That's a D12 series cue, sold for $190 back in the later 80's:D

Awesome! Thanks for the info! Did you find it somewhere? Or do you just know that? I gave 5 bucks for it. Are late 80's Mcdermotts worth anything today? Thanks again, green to you!

I use to sell McDermott cues in Germany back in the 80's so I knew which cue that was. I think if you search the enet you can find a site that lists the older McD cues suggested values today:D

I have a 84 D series

Just a little better than yours, it sold for 290 back then and the blue book had aprox at 90% at 475 a few years ago. This cue is perfect and had it listed for a while, ckeck my handle and see it there

Nice cue if it is straight it is worth between $250 and $300, the model is a McDermott Model D-12 and they were made from approximately 1981 until 1990 when they stopped production of the D-Series cues. This cue is especially nice because of the Birdeye Maple used in the cues forearm which is above average for what was normally used in cues of that series, but every once in a while you find one like this with some real nice wood.

Nice Find and good luck with your sale.

You stole it for five dollars. Big chunky birds eyes....I love it, if it were mine I would throw it on the lathe and turn the end of the butt down by an eighth of an inch and make that chip go away.
