Can You ID Ray Martin's Cue?

Soooo, last week I was in Florida for a few days and was able to hook up with legendary player Ray Martin. I took a four hour 14.1 lesson with him (I know, I know, I could use it) but during that time I asked about his cue and he told me that he actually didn't know who the cue maker was, though he believed it was from the Philippines. I told him it might be an Edwin Reyes, but I'm no cue expert, so I told him I'd post up a couple of pics and see if anyone knew who made it.

Can anyone reliably ID this cue for Ray?

Schuler?? Honestly don't know, but kind of reminds me of a couple of Schulers I've seen a while back...I'm definitely no expert on them, though.

Lou,

These sort of cues are pretty common on e-bay, Filipino made. Highly decorated, they use a lot of abalone and pearl. The shapes and designs on this cue have that distinct look.

Here's an example of one for sale now:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-made-Billiards-Pool-cue-stick-Abalone-cue-/190643525939?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c633d5933

Cues made by the more name brand makers in the Phillipines don't have this sort of appearance.

Now that you mention it, he did say something about eBay. Thanks, Tate.

I would say Filipino all the way except it lacks the custom sssssnake
skin wrap that is so common on those particular cues.

And highly decorated is an understatement. Its like, Hey buddy, could you please save some of those inlays for the next cue?
The Inlays From Hell Cue. There are only a few things worse than that. Here is a short list.

1. A velvet painting of a bull fighter from Mexico.
2. A velvet painting of Elvis Presley.
3. A highly decorated red sombrero hanging on the wall of a rec room.

I think it's just a matter of different tastes. Ray like it. You like your cue. I like mine.
