Can you identify these players?

We expanded our gallery of photos from the 1986 Clyde Childress Memorial Tournament recently and ended up with four images of unidentified players. Can you check the first four photos in the gallery and identify the players by leaving a comment on the photo or posting a reply here on the forum. Thanks in advance for your help! Don't know who this guy is but I'll be Damned if that isn't Eric Clapton behind him to the left.

It might be Jimmy Marino in pic 2 & 3.

I'm thinking the same thing, but I'd like to have confirmation from someone who is pretty sure about it. I never knew Jimmy Marino, so I'm not really sure about the identification. Thanks for your reply!

He owns a pool room in OH, also Rempe could tell you, those two were buttin heads back in the day.

Thanks, Stan, I have already captioned that shot with his name. We try to make our galleries of old pool pics as accurate as possible so they can be a valid piece of pool history.

Jerry, it was nice to meet you in Reno. Sorry we never really got to talk much. Yes, that's Allen Hopkins. That picture, as well as all but the first three images, have been captioned with the names of the people in the shot. I just sent Dan Janes an email asking whether he can confirm that the second and third images are Jimmy Marino.

Hope you got some great photos in Reno. JR Calvert's shots, as posted on the IPT site, are terrific IMHO.

All three of the shots of Allen in this gallery are rather poor images, none of them in sharp focus. But I left them in for now because I wanted to have at least one of him in the gallery.

Hey, don't be mean to Jerry! :>) He's the guy who helped Danny Diliberto write that nifty book, "Road Player." And he's taken lots of neat pool photos over the years as well. A real nice guy who didn't happen to notice that the photos had captions.

You can bet a body part that those 2 photos are of Hippie Jimmy Marino from Pittsburg, PA. I know him like I know arthritis. He was a top nine ball player and could play with anybody in the 70's. He and I played often in Los Angeles. He banked right fair also.

I'm going to caption those photos right now and credit you with confirming the identity of Jimmy Marino. How's that knee doing? Hope you are back to running the 100 meters in around 10 flat!

Yep, I understand. BTW, we are now down to ONE unidentified player. It's the first photo in the gallery now. I think I tried to identify this guy before without any luck.
