TX Hold'm card game changed poker forever, giving average poker players an opportunity/Chance to win against the pros.
Colorado Hold'm SR9B is a pool game that offers this to the weekend warriors and league players.
Give it a try, pro rules, 9 on the spot. 1/2 day event, no flow chart, every round redraw, winners and losers all begin Same time each round.

4 ball does give a weaker player more chance. but they will still lose to the better players.

as can be found when playing 3 ball in a bar. the best two players take all the money most times.

your game though does make it fun for them, and that helps keeping them coming .

3 ball is completely different, this game the 9 ball is Always movin' on the break.
Like TX Hold'm card, when you see four up cards you know if you've got the best of it, most all the time :).

Straightline....
The wing balls don't go in the corners they bank above the corner pockets and into the kitchen.... the 9 is racked on the spot same as pros, sometimes players never make a ball on the break but not always.
Sometimes the 9 will bank into the upper corner, If you break and are hooked, you can roll out same as the pros do.
If you lose your first two matches, tables open up for play, or you can spend your Day time doing something else.
By six o'clock almost every table that was being used is open for business for anyone.
Everything players dislike about late night play, is not in this business model, it's designed for the room owners as well as the players and no hotels needed. Each rack including racking avg three minutes max sometimes a rack takes less than a minute.

.

With a tight rack a decent player should be making the one in the side fairly often. Unless the 4b rack reacts differently than thr 9b

Have you ever played 6 ball? About impossible to make a ball on the break. The different ball numbers all react a bit differently.

I’ve never played it with the balls racked high (like the 9 on the spot break).

You may well be right though. I will play around with the 4b break next time I’m on the table.

Tried it, when I began my venture, too tough.... best players always win.
This game 100 pt Fargo difference doesn't mean allot.

Should be cake for the racker to tip the scales toward that bank. (?)
Breaker not allowed to rack.... the racker has this going for him, if he sees this 9 banking in the upper corners, he adjusts.
I allow the racker to move the 9 up or down as long as you can see the paper, but if you rack em too high, 1 goes in the side, too low and the wing balls go, if you don't get em tight, the wing balls go in the corners.
If your rack is too much left or right when tight, one wing ball will go.

This rack structure is lighter with five less balls.
The one ball.... does rebound more with a full rack of balls.
If you rack em too high the one will go in the side, so the racker is allowed legally to rack em slightly lower, too low the wing balls go in the corners.
You must rack em tight, in line with the long string is your best bet, and I've seen/heard guys say, I couldn't make a ball on the break :).
That's one of the keys to this rack structure and the success of this Colorado Holdm' type SR9B game.
Lag for the break.

When a good player sees this w/o playing it.... it looks simple.
I've always been impressed with players not as good as me, that break the balls better than me.
In one event a player made all four balls, and didn't scratch.
The racker in this game has allot of say in what happens after he sees the results after his work.
Rack em high/low/medium it's up to the racker, the beauty is, the racker will never give you a loose rack (wing balls will go).
No Soft Breaks are allowed.

Your comparison with HoldEm is a tad lame. The reason it got popular was two reasons: WSOP and TV. An average Joe will RARELY beat a good HoldEm player. In this pool game freak outcomes will be FAR more common than in HoldEm. Good luck with it.

TX Hold'm is a game where a non pro poker player has a chance to win against the best.
W/O playing this game Zar and with your experience.... it's easy to say I too felt this way till I played it allot.
I held two events recently at a room in Colorado Springs.
The guy that won it came back and played the second event.
First match he played a gal from Pueblo, she won 7-0.
One guy broke and made all four balls on the break.... pretty cool.
If yah don't try something new, then nothing ever changes/happens.
Robert Turner who runs the Bicycle Club at lunch told me, Hold'm card game changed poker forever.
He said it's the Only Card Game that non players will play with the real pro poker players.
He also said it's very often thee ONLY game they will play.
I'd rather play SVB and Gorst etc in this game than Any other me, because I know I have a chance.
