Can you sit on the table?

Is it acceptable to sit on the table with one foot on the floor to make a shot?

I have been meaning to get me a pair of those 3 foot clown shoes to wear at a big tournament for sometime now. If you have a pair in the closet just collecting dust, I have a shoe size of 11 and will promise to use them in a big tournament when needed and will instruct anyone with a camera to roll the film. :D
snipped

Joey, I don't have clown shoes but I do have a few pairs of my old size 17 tennis shoes.

Sorry, didn't mean to be profound.

Aw, no apology necessary........you weren't.:nanner:

There's a guy on our league who has to weigh close to 400 pounds. He wore a loose tank top one very warm night. When he stretched out on the table, I had the urge to go over it with a rag soaked in alcohol and get the frumunda cheese and sweat off it so I can feel good about touching that and making my bridge. God Forbid he should SIT on it.

:help:

I've seen more than one guy do the "superman" laid out on the rail, leg up on the rail and a toe on the ground. This is acceptable but an ass cheek isn't? Maybe it's because the weight is more evenly distributed on the rail or it just looks cool...

Bottom line, if you can do it and not damage the equipment then it's all good. I'd rather have the occasional cheek on the rail than someone trying to jump or masse who is clueless about how to do it properly. I've got a couple dings in new cloth from knuckle heads thinking they know what they are doing.

you can cock a leg up..lay down..place both cheeks..bend backwards

and sideways..as long as there is one of your feet placed on the floor

The foot on the floor part only applies durring the stroke. You are allowed to manouver your body in any way you see fit to get into a position so that one foot is on the floor before beginning the shot.

I think the "one foot on the floor" rule is all encompassing. (Unless you have a prosthetic leg) If you have a shot with a funny angle, you've got to ass the table sometimes.

On a related note, the IPT originally forgot to include this rule in their handbook, and several players noticed and took advantage of this and crawled around on the tables like monkeys, with no feet on the floor.

that was Danny Harriman that was playing giddy up pool in the IPT and every one freaked out.....i think even Nick Varner may have done it too....

I didn't really care....if its not in the rules then to hell with it jump on the table and make your shot.

Yes our leagues are allowed to sit on the table as long as one foot is on the ground. I trained myself to just shoot one handed then to sit on the table.
