Anyone know who does the commentary along side B. Incardona on this tape? I searched through the documentation but can't seem to find it. I believe the match is from the Sands Regency Open '96. The match is E. Reyes v. J. Archer.

Thanks,

R.S.

IIRC, Jim Rempe did the commentary w/ BI on the Earl/Efren Sands match.... How good do Phillipinos kick??? Great match!

He's asking about the Archer/Reyes match that Phil Capelle based his book and video on. The commentary was provided by Bill Incardona and David Maddux.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies guys. It was driving me crazy trying to find out the other commentator was. Good stuff.

Ahhhh, I seen Efren and Sands and assumed it was the Efren/Earl match from 95...

There's another hill-hill Archer Reyes match that is also great to watch. One is a "mystery match", they both go 11-10 I believe.

I believe Fatboy has posted about the Archer/Reyes DVD & book and said that Archer and Efren didn't get any money for it from Cappele, just whatever they usually get for being on an Accu-Stats video.

No money at all from Capelle? To me, that is ridiculous. He has the match in its entirety, plus replay clips with commentary. That is just wrong in my book.

Maybe I am not understanding what you meant, but I do not understand why Capelle should pay royalties out to pool players he mentions in his instructional books.

Pool players, as little celebrity as they have in mainstream America, are mentioned all the time in pool media. Pool magazines, as an example, often have instructional articles written by pool journalists that mention pool player's shots and strategies. However, the pool magazines do not pay the pool players when their shots and strategies are mentioned in the articles.

I do know that Accu-Stats pays royalties to players for the DVDs they sell, as does TAR. I am not sure about the other pool recording studios.

I don't know Phil Capelle, but I do know that he is very well respected in the billiard community, and has been for many, many years. :)
