Hi Everyone,

I have some recent interest in the carbide mandrels I have had made in the past and will be putting in an order for some again soon.

As you can tell by the attached photograph, these are built on the high end maintenance sets available by Prather and Atlas Billiards. The sleeve is a piece of 92 Rockwell carbide, very hard and sure to last for a long long time without losing any tolerances. I also have them ground on a taper to match the taper of the cue, making it very easy to have a perfect transition from butt to shaft.

Two sets are recommended: 1 set to sand the cue to prior to clearcoating, these are ground to .838" and the second set ground to .845" to wetsand the the shaft and butt to the final dimensions. You can get away with just the finish size if you like, just a bit more prep time required before finishing is needed.

If you've ever wanted to have the ability to make all of your butts and shafts interchangeable and considered getting mandrels in the past, this is a great opportunity at a fantastic price!!

These will be available for $275 for each set (1) male and (1) female, please specify your interest in 3/8-10 or radial, no other sizes or threads can be offerded for this price.

These are ground in an ISO 9001 certified carbide grinding shop and are made perfect!!
Shipping is around $18 anywhere in the continental U.S.

Anyone interested in a set please e-mail me at:
mike@customcuemaker.com

Please specify preferred thread and whether you would like both sizes or just the finished size.
A deposit in full will be required for any orders.

Thanks,
Mike

Are they perfect?

Hi Gracios Cues,

These are made in a grinding shop that specializes in carbide, in fact that's all they grind....

In the past, the mandrels they've made for me were done within .0001". that's 1/10000.

If I can get enough orders, cost should drop to $250 for a set of two.

Thanks,
Mike

How concentric are they to one another?

IE- Not Finish size to Finish size, but Sanding to Finish & Finish to Sanding?

Perfect as you would expect.

Anyone who may be interested, please let me know as soon as you can. I'm getting the final numbers together and ordering the parts to get these into production.

Take advantage of a great offer on these mandrels!!

Thanks,
Mike

Jusr re-read your description but it never hurts to ask:

Set of 2 = 1 male and one female @250.00?
...or 1 pair of sanding and 1 pair of finish for $500.00?

Can I pick my own od?
Can you match my taper? (might not be necessary??)
How LONG is the carbide...the longer the better- 1"?

Probably one pair M and F....and the length of the carbide would probably be like in the pics...you don't need anything longer or tapered either...

You are correct, Set of 2 = 1 male and one female @250.00
...or 1 pair of sanding and 1 pair of finish for $500.00.

Carbide is as pictured, it's 1/2 inch, and plenty to work with, they will be tapered.

OD size is .845" for finished sized or .838" for sanding size. I'm trying to keep it them standard but if you really need a special size, let me know and we can discuss it.

Cool!!! I'd like to have a set, but my pin is a little different than normal because I make them. It's 3/8-10 with a .312 minor, and 1.25" long. It's big for most maintenance sets. I had somebody else working on a set made to work perfect with my pin but it's been a long time, and i'd like to have a set asap. I still want his, but would like to get a set sooner as well if possible. My OD would be .855". If you can help me that would be great. I don't mind the extra cost i'm sure will be needed. I just want a good set that fits as cleen as my joint pin fits my shafts. Please PM me if can help.
