Hi all,
Turned 49!!
Just wanted to let everyone know that I just got a new cue from CC and man, it is the most beautiful cue I have ever seen. it has a cocobola nose, with 4 perfectly sharp and even points, unbelievably boxed veneers with black, blue, gray and natural against a ebony spliced joint and the veneer boxing from point to point is perfectly mitered and matched. Ivory but and joint sleeve, 3/8 x 10 pin with two shafts and ivory ferules with pads and Everest tips. large Ivory diamonds with mother of pearl inlets and surrounded by small ivory diamonds in the points and large multi figured ivory with mother of pearl inlays and small ivory diamonds in the ebony butt. the points on the ivory are unbelievably sharp! it also has ebony and silver rings with mother of pearl dot inlays at both sides of the leather wrap and butt. I can't believe someone made a cue this fine.
The craftsmanship looks perfect to me and it's hit is fantastic, its very close to a southwest but not quite a stiff. they use a parabolic taper as well. I don't know exactly how to describe it but I get a little more "vibration" or feel through the cue than I do with the 4 or 5 southwests I have used. I also owned a bender, and other customs and this has a as good or better feel to me than anything else I have hit. (this may be somewhat subjective as it is my new cue but thats how I feel, LOL). I'll be posting pics as soon as I can. I am sure you guys can tell I am a big pin type of guy.
I have to tell everyone that the guys there are GREAT to deal with. I visited with them twice and they stopped what they were doing, walked me through their manufacturing processes and I really gained a lot of insight into how difficult and time consuming a well made hand made spliced cue is constructed. They gave me the opportunity to hit with different cues, and to see what I really felt was best for me.
I recommend that anyone looking for a new cue talk with these guys, Mine is on the high end custom from them but they cover all ranges, and I truly believe that they will treat everybody with the same sincere interest and patience as they did with me to get the dream cue that I have always wanted. Oh, and don't tell the wife what cues really cost.
the pic of the whole cue is not great, it looks so much better in person.....still trying to figure out the camera
