I only live about 45 minutes from the C. Custom shop, so I went up that way and talked with Trevor for a bit. What I learned was that when Carolina Customs first got started they had initially hired Pete Tascarella to help them build cues. Which is why anyone that's played with a C.C. knows how well they shoot. Well in short this is one of the first cues made there, and I confirmed it with Trevor, and this is one of the initial cues that Pete made at the Carolina Custom shop. It has the C.C. logo but Tascarella actually made it. This wasn't CNC'd and the points/veneers are flawless.

That is a nice cue, but Pete Tascarella did not build it or any other CC cue. I think you may have misunderstood what Trevor said.

Hmmmmm

I believe Szamboti installed the tip, and it was Hercek who installed the Irish linen on this cue. They too worked at CC during their "slow" seasons.... Looks like a steal !!

I'm pretty sure it was pete that worked with them but I didn't work at the shop, so I can't be a hundred percent certain. Regardless though this cue is one of the better cues that they've made and I'd have no problems refunding a buyers money if they weren't one hundred percent satisified with the cue.

Carolina Cues builds a great cue...I have had the pleasure of owning many of them. Yours is certainly a Tascarella influenced design...really a beautiful cue.

I'm selling this cue for 1200 with shipping & tracking included. I don't really need to sell this cue, so the price is firm and cash offers only.

I'm 100% positive anyone who buys this cue is going to keep it as their main player.

Well, guessing doesn't count when you are selling something on AZB. Yes, CC makes nice cues, yes CC made a very cool Tascarella tribute cue for you, but did Pete build this cue? I'm 99.99% positive he did NOT.

Guessing doesn't count anywhere and unless you were standing there when it was built, any opinion is just that..A Guess.. It is a known fact that the boys at CC were taken in by Pete and it is very possible that Pete had a hand in this cue..Just sayin...

Wow,thats irony for ya!

I remember that JD cue ,were people freaked when the design was copied from a JoeC pool cue design but people see and think this one was just copied by the CC company and everybody still comments on how nice it is.Now I do believe it was because that cuemaker was from the Phillipines.Great looking cue no matter who built it.I guess Tribute cues are excepted if your from the right country:cool:

Could it be considered more of a Bushka inspired design? I have a so called "Bushka tribute" cue which is identical to this one in design, outside of a couple different veneer colors, and the fact that the buttsleeve and points on mine are ebony, w/ 3 sets of Bushkaesque type rings. Pics posted

The key being "influenced"....I never said this cue was an absolute copy of a Tasc... this one just has the "look" of a Tasc, it is not exactly like one that I have ever seen, but then, my experience with Tasc cues is very limited.

The cue that your friend copied of JoeC's cue was an EXACT copy made from the photos in the Billiard Digest.

This is a fine looking cue even if Pete had nothing to do with it. There was a thread a while back about a cue that was made very similar to a top name cue and it was said to be a tribute and some people had a fit. "Tribute" sometimes is a grey area and often it may be best to just list or describe a cue for what it is. I always found "tribute" cue's to be nothing more than a way to try and play off another cuemaker's name for some extra $$...jmho. If I see feature's on a certain cue and have another cuemaker build a cue with a similar design I dont think of it as a tribute. If this were the case then every cue out there with a wide ring in the butt sleeve would be a SW tribute and every cue with 4 points, veneer's and a couple inlays would be a Szamboti tribute and so on.

I just call this one a great looking cue. I've owned Carolina Customs with similar inlays that don't look as good as this one, and that includes the finish.

It seems there are quite a few people on here that have some doubts/ opinions ( Which I respect ) and as a result I will go back to double check with the right people. I even had a forum member give me the contact info. so I could get in touch with Pete. So in all honesty I'll look into it further just to be honest and upfront.

However, I stand by what I said about this cue being litterally a top knotch cue with excellent inlays, perfect veneers/ points, joint, shafts... and it plays phenominally. I can't emphasize this enough.

For anyone interested if you recieve the cue and your not a hundred percent satisfied I have no problems with refunding. Though I know it won't be the case.

Better than the one I posted pics of? I would take 400.00 for it. 2 shafts, both play great. I don't care who made it, results are all that counts

Don't mean to step on your post, but a used Carolina cannot be worth what you are asking, no matter who was involved.
