CUE IS $OLD

My friend here in Jackson laid claim to this 30+ year old Maple blanked cue several months ago. He came to the shop today, and instead of picking up the cue that had been waiting for him, he told me he could not afford the cue as planned. Most of you know the story behind these cues, cut to a couple of passes from size and then left to season for the next 30+ years in Bill McDaniel's shop, only to be rediscovered when he sold his shop. We had 5, and this one never made a public appearance until now. This one has a flat faced Ivory 3/4" joint with a polished 3/8-11 pin, Ivory Hoppe ring, and a polished stainless steel exposed weight bolt. Two straight, tight grained Maple shafts with 1" Ivory ferrules and Triangle tips. $1200

Butt 13.95 oz. no weight bolt

Shaft 1 4.02 oz.

Shaft 2 4 oz.

Balance point 19.5"

That amboyna is VOLCANIC! You will never see a cue with any better. Chris, your cue was in KC around 6am this morning, should be there soon.

The mail service left a notice but didn't come back to try re-delivery...bummer.
Brenda is gonna pick it up for me tomorrow, though.

Educate me, Tommy... What is meant by the term Davis "shortie"? Is this a short splice?
