I swear I am having a really tough time making a decision. I am either going to the DCC or to Casper's.

What I like about Casper's one pocket tournament, is, it is basically a weekend tournament. It's only 6 hours from me. Weekends don't create much problem for me.

DCC on the other hand is a blast. Jay Helfert is waiting to hand over $500 to me just for showing up. Oh wait, I think I have to spank him playing some one pocket to get that dough and he's warned me his little GingerBread Man legs are going to be running around the table fast as he can between now and then. Always great to see all of the friends and acquaitances I have had the pleasure of making over the years but it is such a doggone long tournament, I am in trouble from the day I leave home. I would have to leave on Thursday to play Jay, I want to play in the one pocket for sure but wouldn't mind playing in the banks too. The problem is that one pocket isn't over with until Thursday which means I would have to stay a MINIMUM of 8 days. That's close to a thousand dollars right there in hotel stay not including food. Air fare or driving 12 hours is no fun although the air fare is cheap right now, maybe a little over two hundred bucks. I don't want to stay with anyone because I am sleep sensitive and I hate not getting my rest. Any noise and i am awake and miserable the rest of the time. Anyway, this is BS. I am in a quandry but right not I'm leaning toward Casper's. I probably won't do any good at either of the tournaments and would positively have fun at the DCC but it is just so many days to be there. If I go there, I can't pass up the opportuntity to play the GingerBread Man so don't tell me to just go for the one pocket.

In may there is the U.S. OPen One Pocket Championship and I would love to go to that. It's getting so that a person like me has to pick and choose the tournaments that they go to more carefully than in past years simply because there are so many going on right now. I LOVE THE WEEKEND tournaments. That is the best for a guy like me. I can justify it better with my wife and my wallet.

Oh, God, I'm sick and don't know what to do. If I don't go to DCC, Jay will be whining for another year that I was scared to play him. :D :p :D

I really think I am leaning toward going to Casper's instead. The hotel rates at the Horseshoe Casino run from $99-140 a night. That's a lot of dough for sleeping 6 hours out of 24 besides eating like a king at all of those nice restaurants.

Decisions, decisions.. Oh well for tonight, I guess I will just head over to Buffalo's for his weekly free handicapped tournament and whine to my buds. :D

Hi Joey,

The One Pocket tourney at Casper's is a qualifier also for the U.S. Open One Pocket Championship being held May 13-15 at the Riv.

So what you are saying is that whoever wins the One Pocket Tourney at Casper's the weekend of Feb 4-6 will have his entry fee paid for the U.S. OPen One Pocket Championship, IN ADDITION TO THE tournament money and added money????

Sorry..Yessir that is correct..$5,000.00added money plus U.S. Open one pocket entry...

I guess every wannabee one pocket player in the country will be at Casper's Billiards February 4-6th.

I will check with some of the other wannabee one pocket players in New Orleans want to make the trip. There are some old guys around New Orleans who have deep pockets like JUNGLEDUDE and CASEY who might come out of retirement for this one. I'll make sure they know about the tournament. They have been know to stake a player here and there and to bet their own dough as well.

joeya lets play one pocket at dcc.

This will also be $5,000 added with 32 players+

This means minimum $78 a player added money.

One pocket has been booming in Houston largely due to Sylver Ochoa residing there.

I would like to see some west coast and some east coast guys in this event.

I know Brandon Shuff, Gabe Owen, Jeremy Jones and DP will be there.

If you need some spots reserved contact Denis Strickland asap.

might come down from tulsa to watch. any decent golf courses near-by? i need a little winter break thanks

I really like the way the percentages for payout and the number of places are laid out in your original post.

This might be pushing the envelope but what will the payouts look like if there are 48 players and how many places will be paid for 48 players?

Another thing that I missed in your original post is the RATING of the pool room. The full kitchen and good food is a must for a great tournament.

Lenny I believe 30 somethin at the moment...
Joey..Billiards digest nmber 4 newest billiards clubs in America 2008...
