Caught Sharking at SBE

I'd like to see him try that playing against Dennis. He would be in for a surprise. Dennis would just smile and slam the ball in the hole for emphasis. He has a way of putting a stop to all the sharking. He just plays a little better when they do stuff like that.

This is the proper way of putting the final nail in the coffin indeed.

Could someone give some history on this "Burrito" guy?

Is he a gambler, high roller, stake horse?
Does he resemble any other one named people like say Deathball lol.

And yet here you all are talking about him, being entertained by him, letting him live in your head.

Burrito wins!

I've never played Dennis, Alex or anyone in their league for enough to matter. Not to mention....lol... they wouldn't need to shark me.

But, I have and do play mid-level to strong shortstops that pull all kinds of moves much, much worse than "grabbing chalk".

Like Dennis, I play better when someone trys to shark me.

A guy ask me one time, "how can you play better after all that"???, I told him, "you dont shark a person unless your scard of them"...

If they feel they need to shark, they probably also feel they need weight. I guess knowing that gives me even more confidence......and confidence is something HUGE in pool.

That's just the way I look at it.

Poor sportsmanship does not make the game more exciting or better to watch.

Good way to get your fingers broke.

When someone sharks me, I stop, get up off the shot, re-chalk, go through my pre-shot routine all over again. Then I get down to shoot again. Shark me again, I do it all over again.

Sharking says, 'I'm not good enough to beat you on skill alone'.

If you did that against Burrito and his crew you would never actually hit a single ball because they do that crap nonstop:D

Its one thing to shark people during an exhibition. Its another thing to do it in a match. I have played Jeanette Lee in a couple of her exhibitions and it is all sharking and entertainment. Now that I do exhibitions myself, I do the same thing. Its fun and entertainment for the crowd. But if you have to shark someone to win then that says your not good enough to beat them straight up.

Hill-hill $3500 set and this guy grabs the chalk while Aranas is down on his shot. There’s a video of it in the comments where Aranas stands up immediately and holds his hand out asking for the chalk back. Sadly, he got down again and missed to sell out the set.

Any yall Burritos coming to vegas for the US Open ? I wanna play some strangers !!!!!! Bring it

Reality foils another plan!

Where is the burrito man from, anyway?

Burrito and his crew are from either Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic from what I've heard. For some reason, they always show up at the Expo but I've never seen them anywhere else.

I have no idea what kind of pool rooms most of you grew up in and don't care.
My comments are that "messing with somebody's head" was routine where I played. Opponents talked on your shots, said things like "I think the dog is coming out on him", "this one will be a real character builder", or actions like getting their money out and ready to drop in the pocket when you're lining up on the case ball, standing in the line of the shot, letting out a loud "burp" at a pressure moment, it was endless.
Danny Jones told us kids to remember....."If a guy is a talker, he's also a listener". Give it right back to him.
I played Mizerak 8 Ball at one of his exhibitions and he was constantly running his mouth and trying to rattle me. I plodded along like the old tortoise I am and broke about even. (the crowd hated him). Then on one of the last games he was down on a critical shot and I cracked out with "don't dog". He missed the ball a foot...........and he was FURIOUS.
Started talking about the 'show was about him" etc. etc. etc. I told him, you got back what you dished out Mister Pool Champion man.
I also played Mosconi at one of his exhibitions and he was nothing but class and professional all the way. He beat my brains out for 2 dollars and a Coca-Cola. Never did any of the smart mouth stuff. What I didn't know until much later was that when I wasn't looking he quietly gave the two dollars back to my girlfriend.
That man had more style in his little finger than most players have in their whole body.

I played the MIZ in an exhibition "game" in 1988. (Notice the Batman Shirt -- that's Michael Keaton's BATMAN, big movie when it came out). The MIZ was super nice to me. I didn't have a cue, and he told me to use one of his. I didn't know what kind it was, but it was NICE. My dad looked worried, and Miz told him now to worry, he had plenty of cues (something along those lines).

Steve joked and entertained the audience and was fantastic. He noticed that I was a lefty like him and complimented a few good shots. And he let me win the game. The crowd loved him. I hadn't yet really fallen in love with pool at this time, but went with my dad and recognized the MIZ. Now I treasure this memory and I'm the biggest MIZ fan.
