***Caution--I believe SW Cue email was hacked

I just opened my email and found an email "from" swcue@aol.com. The header was "Great Idea!", and it appeared to be to most of SW's address book.

It only had a link to an executable file. I did not click on the link.

I initially tried to reply to the email to let Laurie know something smelled ref the email, but my computer blocked my reply to the email.

I then replied to the email, but removed the "original" email address (although it appeared correct), and typed in her address, and the email went out.

If you receive an email from SW or possibly from anyone else that seems strange, be cautious. I am no computer expert...perhaps someone who is will get the email and be able to analyse it.

Do not ever click on any executable link/file from internet, unless you know exactly what it is. Simple as that.

DO NOT OPEN ATTACHMENTS VIA EMAIL OR OTHER COMM SYSTEM UNLESS YOU ASKED FOR THEM! A FRIEND/FAMILY OF YOURS CAN HAVE THE EMAIL HACKED AND SEND YOU SOMETHING YOU THINK IT'S SAFE BECAUSE WAS SENT BY HIM!!!
THIS IS NOT A JOKE....UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND A WEEK TRYING TO RECOVER DATA FROM YOUR HARD DRIVE!

Generally email links that involve a 'bit.ly.' are going to harm your computer with a rather severe virus or malware.

Would you mind screen shotting it and posting it here?

if you dont know how to screen shot.
1. go to web page and have iamge of what you want on your visible screen
2. press the 'PRT SC' button usually in top right by delete and insert, if it is in another color press the 'Fn' button in the bottom left at the same time
3. Open paint and click the clipboard thing in the top left hand of the window
4. save to your pc
5. upload as in any other picture.

Joe, you would probably need to post a shot after clicking View Full Header for it to be useful.
 
I talked to Laurie earlier. Their email has been hacked and she's working to fix the problem.
 
Thanks for the heads up. Tho I've never opened an executable file from email unless requested.
