Celebrity Pool Website

I like it! As a matter of fact, I really like it a lot.

It's the FIRST time I've ever seen the excitement of pool on TV delivered in a format which is very similar to the kinds of games I enjoy watching. Personalities come to the fore, and I thought it was cool that the "No Fear" guy shared his passion for the game, stating he used to play 10 hours of pool every single day! :p

Jeanette Lee shines brilliantly on this show.

It was REAL pool, not a bunch of robotic mimes going through the motions.

BRAVO to Bravo for figuring out how to do it. It's about time!

No shock at all that Joe Rogan is one of the celebs on the show. Tony Annigoni told me that Rogan came up to him at a tourney once and asked him to sign a copy of Playing of the Rail for him. Said he was a longtime pool fan and they he played a bit himself.

Actually, Joe Rogan, until he became a celebrity played more than a bit. He played in a lot of tournaments and was a strong B type player and not far from being an A player. He probably has a table at his house so he may be even better than he was 4 or 5 years ago when he quit playing in the tournamments.

I really did not think that this celebrity pool thing was going to go over all-that well but it might just be what the game needs. I hope it helps bring new fans. :)

I went to the website, and you guys say Joe can play what about any of the rest of them?

They should try to get Keifer Sutherland to play in it, he used to play all the time and is pretty decent. Years ago he bought an old time poolplayer a Cadillac, he wanted to buy him a new one but the old guy insisted he get one a few years old. Keifer was in Hollywood Billiards a few months back playing and the old guy who is nearing the end came in and Keifer spent a lot of time with him. He seems like a really good guy.

I just watched the trailer for the show on their site. Seems like it will be pretty good. At least they have Jeanette Lee. Lets hope it goes over big. I don't know how many watch bravo.

I think Kiefer Sutherland is mentioned as being a stakehorse for Ismael Paez in Playing off the Rail.

Any opportunity to see Pool on TV is a big +...nothing against Texas Hold 'Em...but 9 Ball would be much more to my liking...

And he is the grandson of Tommy Douglas, recently 'voted' as the most influential Canadian because of his work in creating publicly funded medical coverage (Medicare to some), a former Premier of Saskatchewan. Just in case anyone was interested ... OK, carry on ...

Dave, who's hoping he didn't screw this post up

...and turned down a role in a film to play Douglas (schedule conflicts I think).

If i'm reading the tv guide on yahoo right the pool is on again at 12 AM. Johnnyt

I've heard that once Rogan made it with Fearfactor, he bought several of his pool buddies Gina cues.

-Roger (I need friends like that...)

That was terriable Joe Rogan was the only one who seemed to ever even seen a pool table before. Can someone please reissue an hour of my life I wasted watching that. Sorry to be negative but WOW that was bad, good idea but WOW.

Well what do you expect, they're celebrities not pool players. The people on celebrity poker aren't great poker players either, but due to the luck factor it isn't as apparent. That big comedian look like he knew one end of a cuestick from the other too, but he didn't get to shoot much. Looked like a typical APA league night.
Still you never know what will catch on with the public.
