Centennial Restoration: best new cushions and cloth?

Thanks to the positive feedback regarding Billiard Restoration Service on this section of the forum, I have decided to put my deposit down on a restored 9' Centennial with drop pockets and score counters from Derrick Tiers.

I am now trying to nail down the specifics and include them in the purchase agreement.

Derrick says the following in an email response to my questions on options:

The two types of cushions I have used in the past are "Black Diamond" by Diamond and "No. 66 Pool" by Artemis but I am open to using whatever you like.

Cloth options are wide open. My favorite cloth to use is "Tour Edition 3030" by Championship. "#860" by Simonis is a fine cloth too. There are others as well. Whatever you choose is fine.

If you were putting a restored 9' Centennial in your home -- the last table you plan on ever owning -- what type of cushions and cloth would you request in order to make it the best playing table possible?

I also expressed a preference for red/burgundy pockets  but Derrick doesn't care for the look of the plastic ones; as he states below:

If you go with a red or burgundy pocket, I would suggest you go with the leather option as the red plastic pocket looks horrible. If you go with black, either the leather or plastic looks fine.

If there are any other things you would consider when contemplating a full restoration of a Centennial, I would love to hear about them as well.

Thank you all for your valuable assistance!

I'd like to see what the leather drop pockets look like. I've just begun the restoration process for my Anniversary table, and it has red plastic drops. Considering black, but am interested in what the leather inserts look like... have never seen such.

I believe that the cushions mentioned above are two totally different profiles. Black diamonds are K55 and Artemis Pool#66 are K66. Just some info for you

Thank you for the info.

I hate to admit it but I didn't even know cushions came in different profiles...

How does a K55 play differently than a K66?

I'm pretty sure the Artemis Intercontinental #66 is a K55 profile. I went through this when I had my GC4 set up. I know it's unnecessarily confusing, but I believe that's the way the numbered their k55 cushion. One of the heavy hitters will come on here and confirm or correct me, I'm sure.

The Artemis cushions in the K55 profile are Intercontenental No. 66
The Artemis cushions in the K66 profile are Pool K66.

The Interconental cushions are the ones you want for your table.

If it were my table...

Artemis Intercontinental cushions & Simonis 860HR

Get yourself some tournament grade balls too while you're at it!!

Brunswick superspeed cushions, GC 4 drop pockets,
With Brunswick centennial balls....after all the tables a Brunswick.
Table will play perfect...for sure.

My suggestion is send those rails to Mark Gregory and have him rebuild/extend the sub-rails with the Artemis cushions in the K55 profile are Intercontenental No. 66 and go with Tournament blue Simonis 860. The table will play amazing
Example my table that has that set up except I need send my rails to Mark for the proper treatment. This will happen soon:

Greg,
Thanks to your percision instructions and patience with me over the phone the light could not have turned out any better. All I can say is what a genius idea to mount the light like that. This is the cleanest best way to do it by far if you have a vaulted ceiling or just want to make the light look it was built with the house.

Sorry I didn't mean to highjack the thread.
