Chalk life?

How long does a piece of chalk last you? Not sure why I'm asking, except I bought 2 boxes of chalk to bring to Japan for a couple of years and I'm still on the first piece. I play 2 - 8 hours a week. Now, it is about 1/3 thickness and needs cut flat again.

When I was younger, I lost it more. Now I just seem to hang on to it forever! It will dry up before I use it all!

Last q...should I use Silver Cup or Master next?

Until it breaks through the back.
Watch out for the ferrule wearing out.

I play around 15-20 hours a week and use Blue Diamond chalk.
Blue Diamond lasts me around 2 months. When I used Masters
it only last about 2 weeks.I never have liked Silver Cup.Hope
this helps.

I don't know how long a chalk last for me, but I have a friend. He informed me one day he was Dutch, and that Dutch folk are know to be "frugal". When he feels his chalk is worn down too much, the takes the paper off the back, and plays with that side until there is a hole in the cube.

I chalk after every shot and play about 15 hours a week and my chalk (Masters) lasts about a year per cube. I usually turn them in when they're too short to use anymore.

I can not say how long, as I was given some Old Master Green, have some New Master Green, and I play with a Block until it is so thin it splits. I see no reason to throw away perfetly good chalk!

Gee, I'm a big spender...I buy chalk by the dozen, just masters, not the $pendy stuff. When it gets too worn to use easily with my pocket chalker, I switch to a new cube.

A local bar I play in from time to time seldom has decent chalk, so I assume my "leftovers" are appreciated.

I practice 1-3 hours a day, and then play for 3 hours twice a week. I am about 1/2 done with a piece of chalk I started last December.

About every 2 months I stick it in the microwave for 15 seconds to drive off the moisture.

That's interesting. I started using Blue Diamond a few months ago, and I feel like I go thru the Blue Diamond faster than I went thru the Masters chalk.

Anyone else?

I think that's a great idea.

Apologies for the double post, but .... I had TWO thoughts!
