What does it take to see Shane vs KO, 10 ball race to 50-100? or a set playing race to 25.

There's been a few times now where the KO brothers were in the U.S playing in the same events as Shane, but nothing gets set up!??

Do pro pool players today just like to duck each other unless they have the nut??

Scott was barking at Shane on facebook to play some 1p, but we've yet to see anything.

Dazz was saying he'll play anyone for 10-20K and have no problems finding backers.

Justin Hall says he'll play anyone for 10K 1p on his home table.

The best we can get is Danny Smith vs Chris Gentile??

Shane and Ko did play for CSI...

Shane stayed in the lead till 15, then ended up losing by 4 games... It's on you tube...

it was only to 21...

I would love to see them play a longer race...

I did watch that between Shane and Ko and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Just a little while back Mike Dechaine and Shane tried to get a small set($2-3K) going, but to no avail.

Reading stories like Archer putting a huge package on Busty for 10K? Then Busty fearlessly raise the stakes to 20-30K? Those type stories seem like fairy tales...

Now the only time 2 guys play each other is winner gets 2K, loser gets 1K.

I do like the Smoking Ace's barbox 2K entry tournaments. Would like to see that in 10b with 16 of the world elites on 9ft diamonds.

It was a different world back then, when busty was new to us and Johnny was out n about.

.
They read like fairy tales because they are.

The interviews and realities are online. Reality is still pretty cool, but you might as well tell people they were playing for 1.6Million and Busty asked to raise the stakes to 37 Brazilliion.

It wasn't 10k to 20k though?

According to the source below, the stakes for that set was $2500. Quite a feat though. I seem to remember reading about it from multiple sources and the bet was about that amount too.

It is fallacy to expect players to go seek out the toughest action unless they are mad at their money. Romantic notions of bravery are one thing, making the monthly nut is quite another.

Pool fans, unfortunately, do not have the luxury that fans of major sports like baseball or football have. That luxury being an excellent match up nearly every week. That's because players in other sports get paid regardless, and very well at that. In pool, a "pro" can play great, entertain the spectators and railbirds, and lose and go home broke. The worst player in the NFL brings home a payday that most average folks around the globe salivate over. But, them's the breaks. Tough to be a pro pool player, and tough to be a pool fan because not much goes on these days.

FYI, KO and Shane had a significant side bet on their match, 20k each I believe.

world champions dont duck. they travel and win titles abroad.

LOL
You see it is simple, it is not ducking if you duck international tournaments, but it is ducking if you don't play money games and race to 100
Where is one stroke or no stroke ? One of them made a classic priceless quote about Shanesters
Starts with something like "it is simple really........"
:D

This is where Johnny tells what really happened.

1. The entry fee was $3K a man, or there abouts. AnitoKid has it down as $2500, but AK heard it third hand. Johnny didn't say it as for sure $3K, so whatever, the number was in the $3K range

2. Johnny corrects the statement of "double the bet." He says that Francisco asks if he wants to "bet more."

3. Glass City Open

4. 9' Diamond

Freddie <~~~ $3K equals 4 Brazillians

This is real life and real money. The idea that the best pro's should always be matching up for $20k baffles me. I would like to think anyone putting this kind of cash up thinks they are the favorite.

I've never lived their life so maybe I don't have the "gamble" pro pool players have. But, risking what is essentially (unless u getting staked for some/most) a 1/4ish of your annual income isn't "heart", it's stupidity.

Guess I have no heart, I wouldn't flip a coin for $20k.

You are not alone bud...... For 20k I want warranty :D

Let me tell you the truth about what so called "pool gambling". there are only 2 scenarios which covers 99.99% of what so called "actions":

1. some guys run around trick and cheat weaker players for money and they are proud of doing it, other railbirds admire their cheating skill (hustling).
2. Most of pro pool player don't have the money for big money match so 99.99% of the time you see a big money match, they are there like horses running for someone elses to bet on. Pressure ? I don't know where the pressure is when you play for free cheese.

All you say about omg pro pool players gamble for 20k 30k are ****shit, no pool players really gamble for that money. They have backers and they play for free money. If you don't know the difference then you don't know what gamble is.

It is not about how much you bet on a match, it's about how much of your bankroll you dare to bet. The pro poker player bet 30k against Orcullo but for him 30k is like 0.01 of his bankroll, it has the same effect as I bet $10. And I assure you no american PRO pool players have the what so called HEART of betting lets say 30% of their bankroll EXCEPT it's a lock to win. all the barking going around about GAMBLING BIG MONEY are just ****shit and make me laugh so hard why some people still can not see the truth.

Wanna see PRO pool players bet all their bankroll on a set, go to asia.

Again, there may be exceptions that I don't know of, I'm only talking for 99.99% of pro pool players.
