Our pool team (Texas Express) won our division of the VNEA. The local BCA team that won first place in their division has just challenged us to a team shootout. How much better can it get as we prepare for Vegas.....randyg

Kick their butts Randy! If you need a sub, let me know, I love to put the smack down on those guys! :D

The line

out of Vegas: BCA by 3 VNEA ..... LOL (just kidding, but I have been to both Nationals)

Well, that was fun. Met some new friends, played some great pool and overall had a great time.

The other team was a very good team. All their players were nice and familiar with BCA Rules.

We played the best out of three matches. Race to 13 wins each match.

First match we won 13-7
Second match was tied at 7-7 and we won 13-7.

Took home a small wager. They want to play again next Thursday, we accepted. Doesn't get better that this. Right in between the end of league and Nationals......SPF=randyg

What was the format? Kinda like a mini-Mosconi Cup? Or did you just shoot your top three (actually two since you won in two straight) against their top three shooters? Sounds like you accomplished several things in one night. Meeting new friends, getting in some good practice against players you are not familiar with, and of course the small ;) wager!!!

Maniac: The format was typical BCA 5 person team. 25 games represents the Match. Each player on my team played each player on the other team one game until one team reached 13 (1/2 of 25) before the other team.

We had 4 of our best 7 players in the line-up. Next week our starting 5 players will be in the line up.

This is great build up to the Nationals.....randyg

Randy,
This would be a great thing to do after the BCA and the VNEA in Vegas,
Maybe play the winners of the all the Masters divisions against each other.
Would be very interesting. Of course airfare would have to paid for the BCA guys since they would have to come back to Vegas to play the VNEA guys and/or gals. It could be done the last day of Valley tournament.

Who's on it?

Sounds like a blast! Who's on your team? We might be interested in matching up our BCA team.

Randy--
On a related note, I just received a phone call from Audra Quinn @Billiard Digest. She is doing a follow up article, kind of a 'where are they now' about last year's winners. I let her know that Young Guns will be there to defend the title & it is a super hard tournament to win, with tough competition from all over. I love the atmosphere. 99% of the teams have genuine respect for each other. She asked how long we will go by the name 'Young Guns' and I told her until Justin starts shaving.

Good luck Randy. See ya there.

You guys are a great team. Do you have all the same players as last year???

Yes, same exact team.

I am pretty sure I know which team was yours.

We also love to make a friendly, small (or big) wager on our matches. Just let me know.
