During Weert Open, Europe's biggest 9-ball tournament, Ralf Souquet and Niels Feijen will play a 10-ball Challenge Match.

It will be played Sat night, and the winner gets 1500 Euro.

Only a race to 13 though, but still a nice match-up.

Anyone interested in a sweat bet? I am going for Niels Feijen on this.

The match will not be aired anywhere, but details will probably be posted on www.openweert.com, www.poolkrant.nl, www.nielsfeijen.nl and www.souquet.de

Do you know how tight the pockets will be? The smaller they are, the more I like Niels. With 4.5" I feel like this match is a toss-up. With 4" I'd bet on Feijen.

I am sorry, I have no idea.

Maybe AZB member HOB Weert, owner of the poolhall and promotor of the Weert Open and the challenge match can tell us? Perhaps he can also keep us updated with live-score during the match? ;)

Deal iba7467.

Then I've got bet with you and TannerPruess. (Someone once said never bet against TP, so I feel kind of stupid now) ;)

Hi Roy. I like Niels but I will take Ralf for $20 just to sweat the outcome and you cant underestimate the Kaiser. I deal with Paypal only. Let me know if you have a Paypal account so we can close an agreement.

Uwate and Yobagua, I use paypal and you both got bets. Please confirm here.

To all the others who like the mighty Ralf in this match, you are too late to bet with me. I will not bet more on this match. ;)

Confirmed Roy, thanks! I settle up via paypal, if Neils win just forward me your paypal addy. Ill PM you my paypal addy if the Kaiser snaps it off.

Ditto for me Roy. You got a bet for $20. Good Luck!

Next to Shane playing 10-ball at the moment, I might be less inclined to bet against Ralph than any player alive. Other than Thorsten at 14.1, and Efren (in stroke) at 8-ball, Ralph is at least even money to win at anything, IMO.

Forget one pocket, though. Besides his lack of experience, I don't even want to think about him playing a 4 1/2 hour of race to 3 one pocket like DCC. I think only Varner has fans of that sort of pace.

Niels better play his best.

So you might consider giving me odds on this then? ;)

During the last seasons on the Eurotour, the worlds hardest 9-ball tour, with 256 players competing on all 7 yearly stops, Niels has not finished worse than 17th. Ralf has more than once finished 65th on these tournaments, and has not won, or been in a final of an eurotour in years.

Niels has a much more powerful break than Ralf, and I consider his 10-ball game to be slightly better then Ralf's.

The last 2 times they have played eachother, Niels beat Ralf Souquet in the World 9-ball Championship 9-2, and 10-6 in the Austria Open Eurotour.

Also Niels is playing these kind of matches more often than Ralf, who prefers to only play tournaments. Niels is also showing heart by accepting sidebets on this match, if anyone want to. (Read it on www.openweert.com)

I just hope Niels can back up all my woofing :D

The match just finished, I got a text from the promotor of the event with the score.

Ralf Souquet won by impressive 13-4 :D

I def picked the wrong horse this time :( Guess there will be details at the websites of Niels Feijen and Ralf Souquet during few days. That's the fun part when two players with websites have matches like this, you can read what both felt, and their experiences! www.nielsfeijen.nl and www.souquet.de

For the 4 "lucky" winners, please send me your paypal-details and I'll transfer the money.

Niels texted me also, he said he got tortured. Ralf missed only one ball in the entire set.

But, as long as he miss there is no excuse, so Niels, if you can hear me now: PRACTISE MORE! :-D

To be honest, after Roy posted about how things have usually gone between them lately, I almost changed my mind ( probably would have if someone hadn't posted the fifty billion titles Souqet has won on AZB a day or two ago)

Niels is a great player, but Ralf is a "first-try" Hall of Famer who hasn't lost his game yet.

13-4 doesn't reflect their overall talents but I still think you have to be nuts to bet against Ralf. He's just too damn solid.

Haha, it was me who posted all the titles Souquet has won the past years :D
