Has anyone tried the new Chameleon Rack. I saw one of the ads and it looked interesting. Just wanted some feed back before I bought a birthday present.:D
Thanks

I Also Saw The Ad Last Night During The Skins Match. The Layout Looked Interesting. I Just Hope It Doesn't Do Damage To The Table Like The Tight Rack Does. I'd Love To See A Review, I Almost Ordered One Today, I May Go Order One Now, Just To Test It Out.

I bought one at the SBE this year. I started using it yesterday for the first time, as my table was just set up yesterday with new cloth installed. I have to say its amazing!!! Nice tight rack, no gaps, I dont have to "train" my cloth like the Sardo's. I racked every conceivable game with mine, 8 ball, 9 ball, 10 ball, 6 ball, 7 ball, etc....I love it, and would recommend it to anyone.

I watched the demo and it looks like an excellent product...what is the price of this??

I recently got a Sardo and defina'tly like it but I have a feeling I may have been more happy with the Chameleon, it looks easier and more versatile for sure.

I picked mine up at the expo for $60.00. But I somehow got over....long long story....retail I believe is $80.00.

This thing sucks! Spend your money on a nice quality wooden rack. If anybody watched the pro event at SBE you would see that everybody racked using the triangle portion only as the flip up thingamajig got in the way. I played around with this for several racks and noticed that the plastic flexes too much. Nice idea, but poor performance in my opinion.

Flex in the Chameleon Rack

I talked to Robert of RST2 International, maker of the Chameleon rack, today.
He told me NOT to push too hard on the tightener part of the rack, because most people will have the urge to tighten the rack by pushing on it hard, but in reality that causes a bounce-back effect which will actually loosen the rack.

He said use it lightly and it will create a tight rack. He was generous enough to donate a Chamelon Rack for the Harvard 8 Ball Tournament here, and I will let you know how it plays when I receive it to try it out.

This product is not one that i would recommend. I had to use one last year at DCC in the BCA event, it was just a prototype then, and it was horrible. Then at the Viking event this past weekend in Columbus, OH they had to use them and heard nothing but complaints about them. The players only used the normal triangle portion and left the 9 ball bar and the bottom push rail alone so it was like using a normal rack. Nothing can beat a solid wooden rack. This is just another attempt to get money out of pool players on things that aren't needed. The wooden rack has been around for God knows how long, if it aint broke, dont fix it.

i bought one in valley forge and i cant say that it racks any better than the wood rack i have. it does rack a 9 ball rack better though. the guy at the demo was demonstrating and all the balls were touching but this wasnt the case on my table with the not brand new balls.

The Chameleon rack was giving all the Pro players a fit at the Super Billiards Expo. I saw Fabio break the yellow plastic thing that flips over off the rack to use for 9 ball. Frank Delpizio had a heck of a time racking the semi final match with it. It took Frank longer to get a tight rack with it, than it took them to play the game. I'm not kidding...

Maybe I'm just getting old. I didn't think 55 was all that old even though its true that in my top four preferenced pool games 9 ball falls as a clear underdog to straight pool, one pocket and eight ball.

First I thought ... what the hell is a Chameleon Rack, this must be some crazy 9 ball thing like those 3D cues :) ... so I looked it up on the internet. Ohhh ... well, I personally think this is great. If people are buying this then I surely have a chance when I perfect my invention, the balloon floating object ball laser beam aiming system complete with automatic invisable chalk snap lines. :)

Give me a break. Rack the balls and play pool. Leave these ridiculous gimmicks to the three card monte guys.

I believe

during a commercial for the Skins competition, they advertised it for $59.95 (about same as Sardo 5000).

But many are right, nothing beats a solid oak rack.
