Championship Vs. Simonis

They used championship down at the hall for a while. It seemed to wear better and was slightly faster than the simionis. Unfortunately, most others didn't feel that way - there's definitely some racism and bigotry when it comes to pool felt. Seems like the Harley(simonis) guys, usually, get their way. They're both excellent cloth - so's Granito.
Does it matter if it is worsted wool or not on the championship cloth?

I got 8 years out of Simonis 760 on my home table, often used 3 hours a night, but then again, it sits for days without any use.

However, when I moved the table (now in storage until house is built) the cloth that came off was "not like cloth going on". It was stiff, tore easily, and felt more like flexible but thick paper.

I went from Simonis to Championship about 4 months ago. One advantage of Championship is that it doesn't seem to have many burn marks. My 2 cents.

I played a tourney on the chsmpionship cloth lasty weekend and it does play differently than simonis. I found it to me lots faster. Also the object balls skidded lots more often, you know the way they kind of roll backwards and then turn over when you shoot a rolling shot. Also, shooting 2 rails side to side the 2nd rail comes off lots longer than simonis. Not saying simonis is better just sharing differenvces I experienced.
You weren't as funny in 2005. What gives?

Get simonis . It lasts longer. When I used to cover tables I would tell people if they wanted to save $50 or so to get championship. Now the price is almost the same so there is no saving and there for no point. They only reason I have championship cloth right now is because when I got this table during the pandemic everyone was sold out of blue.

I have used the Championship and it lasts a lot longer for me. Lasted 10 years on a table that gets a ton of play. Had the new cloth on for almost 3 years and no complaints

Can you guys talk about Predator cloth? I recently got back in to pool, I used to put Simonis 860 on my own table when I had one. The two bigger pool halls near me use Predator cloth for some reason. One pool hall has some Gold Crowns and Diamond tables. I forgot the brand of the pool table of the other place, they seemed like some really heavy tables from the 80's or 90's. But they both use Predator cloth with Predator balls.

Most of the rooms I play in use Simonis 860. Seems to me when the cloth is new, the balls slide quite a bit. Does this also happen with Champion? I've played on Champion cloth and have always liked it.
I had the Championship 30/30 installed last September, and it was really slidey for a couple of months. Was normal after that. I have the same experience, the 30/30 cloth is faster and does wear better than the Simonis 860 which came on the table when shipped.

I checked out the Brunswick Centennial cloth and I didn’t care for the color selection.
The only color I’d use was Brunswick Green and I was settling on that color. The Blue
cloth selections were too dark and I didn’t care for the other colors offered. Nope, if
I’m going to be looking at the cloth which we do when playing pool, I’d rather have
Simonis. Several of my friends use it and the tables see plenty of play. Just maintain the
cloth with vacuuming & brushing and use the best chalk you can for overall cleanliness.
